Panthers to be Recognized at "UWM Scholarship Night at the Bucks Game" Event This Wednesday at the Bradley Center
The UWM Men's Basketball team will be recognized during half-time ceremonies this Wednesday (April 13) at the annual "UWM Scholarship Night at the Bucks Game" event at the Bradley Center.
The team played exciting basketball throughout the regular season, emerging as champions of the Horizon League. In post-season play in the prestigious NCAA Tournament, the team beat two powerful opponents before reaching the coveted "Sweet 16" level of competition.
Everyone is invited to this special night, which also honors two outstanding Southeast Wisconsin high school seniors. The high school students, one male and one female, will be presented with a $1,000 scholarship from the UWM Alumni Association, if they enroll and are accepted at UWM for the Fall 2005 semester.
Specially-priced tickets for the Bucks game are available at the UWM Bookstore through Tuesday (April 12) by stopping in at the Bookstore or by calling (414) 229-4201. They also are on sale directly through the Bucks office by calling (414) 227-0539. UWM alumni, faculty and staff, students and friends can purchase upper-level tickets for only
$10 (regularly $27) or lower-level tickets for $35 (regularly $48).
We encourage you to come and see this special tribute to the Men's Basketball Team and the scholarship finalists, as well as to cheer on the Milwaukee Bucks. The game starts at 7 p.m., when the Bucks will take on the Boston Celtics.
Before the game, the UWM Pep Band and Cheerleading squad, along with mascot Victor E. Panther, will entertain fans on the Milwaukee Bucks/UWM Stage in the East Atrium of the Bradley Center, beginning at 6 p.m. UWM student saxophonist Jeremy Scott will play the National Anthem just before the 7 p.m. game.
