More from Katz:
Wisconsin assistant Rob Jeter, a former assistant at UWM, will be on campus either Tuesday or Wednesday this week for his second interview with Panthers officials.
Jeter interviewed with UWM once and is expected to go back to meet with the upper administration. UWM has reportedly also talked to Metro State (Colo.) coach Mike Dunlap, a Division II coach who has been successful for years at that level.
Jeter, though, has ties to the Panthers program and helped recruit some of the current players. The Panthers, who reached the Sweet 16, return seven seniors. UWM coach Bruce Pearl left last week to be the head coach at Tennessee.
Wisconsin is putting together a significant package to keep Jeter, but the opportunity to be a head coach might be too good to pass up and he could be named by the end of the week.

Interesting. I had heard Jeter was offered the job 4years ago ahead of Bruce. Is there any validity to this rumor?

It was my understanding that Jeter was asked if he was interested in the job when Bo left and he decided not to pursue and headed to Wisconsin...I don't believe the job was actually offered though.

Jeter may not want to stick around long enough to take over UW when Bo decides to retire. Face it, Bo will probably coach for at least another 4 years. If you were considered for a head coaching position now, would you wait?

All I know if Jeter is our new coach he had better implement that 2-1-2 press he played in at Platteville under Bo...otherwise I dont see him getting the job...I want the ball up and down the floor and not a grind it out style

Bo will coach Wisconsin for at least the next 8 to 10 years. Jeter is very unlikely to hang around waiting for his retirement.
