yep. again you can look at Gonzaga. it's taken them a long time to get even the "nuetral court" games against premiere teams. what's helped them is they've done well in these preseason or midseason tourneys... exactly what we need to do. it's a long process and we're still in the very early stages. we need to continue it this year though to keep us on a roll. as a midmajor even a small mistep could set us back. no pressure right? it is nice to have an additional home game (for the same season ticket price!).

The teams we play in non-conference are still better than the Horizon League. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing... Besides Upper Iowa and maybe TN Tech, I would take all of those teams over our conference.
Dont forget, TN Tech's RPI isnt really thaaat bad (better than the vast majority of the HL).
I think we finish the season with 24+ wins (post season not included).

So just to clarify, you like the road games at Montana, South Dakota Sate, and Wyoming??? I can't really say I am a big fan, and would hardly take those teams over Butler, UIC, and Detroit. Less than 20 regular season wins would be disappointing...
GO PANTHERS!

our non-conference schedule is really nothing to write home to mom about that is for sure (with the exception of UW-Madison), and from the way that the off season has been going for some teams in the HL this year looks like our conference games might be just as bad. looks like our only shinning light is the preseason NIT, hopefully we get deep into it so that we will have some wins over some decent non-conference schools.
i am going to have to agree with Freak and bball on our final record though, if we don't win 20 games there is something wrong and ideally there should be roughly 24 win-able games (if not more). so looks like we will have to wait and see, but at least there are a ton of home games for us all to go to right?

I am far from thrilled about the final schedule as well, but look at it from the view of a major school. UWM is a sweet 16 team with almost everyone coming back, keeping them a serious threat. Without any respect being given to us by most of the press, the big-time schools like UK, UNC, Duke etc. don't want to risk a loss against us. They'd rather play against each other,(which can't hurt their status that much, even if they lose) or against pushovers for easy W's. The Northwestern and Marquette's of the world will have a hard enough time getting through their own conference schedule and are looking to pad their record with pushovers. UWM is somewhere in the middle. Surely not a pushover for these teams, but a team that would not give them a real "quality" win. The harm outweighs the reward.
