"I won at Milwaukee, but they had limitations..."
absolutely sickening.

Thanks for the help Pearl. Give us some compliments. At least lie to us that you think we have a chance of repeat success. Some of his quotes at TN have been disappointing to UWM fans. Later, UWMfreak

I think he's trying to hype himself up as much as possible for next year.
As far as limitations, he might be talking about the fact that UT has so much more money that can be devoted to recruiting and other aspects of the program.
After all, this is the same man that said, "I could see myself finishing my career at UWM" but also said "I knew I had to take a serious look at Tennessee because if I didn't, I'd be committed to Milwaukee for the rest of my life."
It's hype, it's ego, take it at face value. Let him coach a season there and explore what limitations may exist there as well...

Not his former school yet; he's still collecting UWM paychecks -- a third of them this year (if he's not paid during summers) still on the way.

WALTER I'll say a few words.
The Dude clasps his hands in front of him. Walter clears his throat.
WALTER Donny was a good bowler, and a good man. He was. . . He was one of us. He was a man who loved the outdoors, and bowling, and as a surfer explored the beaches of southern California from Redondo to Calabassos. And he was an avid bowler. And a good friend. He died--he died as so many of his generation, before his time. In your wisdom you took him, Lord. As you took so many bright flowering young men, at Khe San and Lan Doc and Hill 364. These young men gave their lives. And Donny too. Donny who. . . who loved bowling.
Walter clears his throat.
WALTER And so, Theodore--Donald--Karabotsos, in accordance with what we think your dying wishes might well have been, we commit your mortal remains to the bosom of.
Walter is peeling the plastic lid off the coffee can.
WALTER the Pacific Ocean, which you loved so well.
AS HE SHAKES OUT THE ASHES:
WALTER Goodnight, sweet prince.

It appears as though the only thing that truly matters to BP is BP. I could be wrong, but from what he has said and done in the last few days, it sure does look that way.
Maybe it was best he did leave, and we find some "new blood". It's not all bad, since UWM has been in the news constantly, while UW has faded from the reporting cycles.
Never hurts to keep your name out there.
If we land a notible name as the new HC, we may thank him for getting the hell out of dodge, and it may work out that UT will be sorry they grabbed him.
Only time will tell, I guess.

From all the tv publicity that bruce is getting at tenn. it doesn't even seem like the same bruce. Talking on the cell phone at the game he just looked like he is trying to publicize himself. I'm starting to think that he was only here at UWM to launch himself, and had we won in Indianapolis vs. notre dame, I think he would have gone then too.

This will be my last post on this topic.
What do you guys expect? He was hired at Tennessee to do exactly what he is doing right now: Promoting himself, promoting the university, promoting his program. He is in the spotlight and is doing exactly what he is getting paid 1.4 million dollars to do:
PROMOTE THE PROGRAM.
MAKE IT SOMETHING.
Of course it seems exactly like what he was doing here. That's because it is! The formula worked here. He took a down program and turned us into one of the top mid major programs in the country. Now he's trying to take a weak SEC program and turn it into a national powerhouse. How would you do it? I for one would take the same pattern that worked for me at UWM and apply it at Tennessee.
Some of you seem to think that Bruce should shrink into the background, or "feel sorry" for us or something. If he did that, he wouldn't be worth the paper his Tenessee contract was printed on!
Let the man have his success. He did what he said he would do while he was here, he's doing what he said he would down there.
