What do you guys say we gather up all the "Bruce is my Homeboy" shirts and auction them all off at once. "Great for washing you car, cleaning up vomit, or as kindling" We might have some interested Illini fans. All proceeds go toward hiring a new coach.

So, because Bruce is in Tennessee you're gonna waste a shirt. Did you chuck your packers superbowl shirt when Holmgren left for Seattle too? Better money, more power etc.

what the hell are we going to do with them?? There is no mention of UWM anywhere on the shirt. Your comparison to the Packers shirt is stupid, I'm not proposing we chuck our UWM gear, just our Bruce gear.
I might keep it if we can chage it to, "Bruce is my Nomad"
I'm not bitter, but keeping the Bruce stuff is like being the guy with the Vin Baker jersey at Bucks games..kind of weird

personally, I feel bad that everyone bought those shirts and now really cant do much with them. but its a piece of history. if we get our act together, maybe you'll see Thompson Boling Arena full of orange versions, and our yellow will be a collectors item of hopefully one of the greatest coaches ever.
also remember that we had no way of knowing he would leave after this season. we came up with the idea during the 2004 World Series, and at that point we were hoping we'd beat UIC at UIC, not beating Illinois in the Sweet 16. great things happened this season and the other 3 under Bruce.
at least you only have one. us 3 guys each have 5 or so, plus a box of shirts nobody picked up.

(there is no reference to UWM or the year on the shirt because we felt he'd be here a while and they would have lasting value, and we didnt feel like getting in trouble with the school about any names or logos)

It was all Bruce and Bruce is now gone so out they go. Sell them to someone at the U of T.

Hey...if you want to deal with all the BS that goes with using a university trademarked logo...go ahead. im saving my 4 shirts as a momento of this season. by the way we used a school logo on our special edition shirts and we are lucky as hell that the university didnt come after us. harker put in a good word and since we were only making a few they let us get away with it.but we know that they actually did have a conversation about us using the logo... it could have been some deep sh*t for us.

I feel almost like Bruce himself, being blamed for taking advantage of a great opportunity.
lets get this straight: 1) the shirts were conceived by us 3 during the 2004 World Series when we seen a guy in the stands wearing a "Damon is my Homeboy" shirt (for Johnny Damon, centerfielder of the Boston Red Sox, for those who don't know).
2) in october 2004, all we knew was that we had a GREAT coach, and a GREAT returning team capable of winning the conference.
3) we got a positive response on this board that many would like the shirts, so we went ahead and made a few.
4) they ended up selling quickly, probably because people liked the idea and loved our coach, so we made more.
I just want people to remember that 6 months ago we were hoping to win at UIC. would a coach shirt idea have been a better idea at a major conference? or course. but hopefully in the future we'll all have a peice of memorabilia of a extremely successful coach at a major school.

Please let me know how many BIMH tee shirts are left. It may be possible to recover some of the cost of purchasing them. They shouldn't be a total loss to the students who invested up front to get them printed. -- johnjay johnjay@uwm.edu

I cant help but notice we have a lot of "young" bandwagon fans who have not posted on here all year or EVER before....All you fools need to take a close look at what you are saying because there are a lot of people who have put alot into this program and getting fools like you out to the games when we only had 800 people there....
We worked our aces off so quit making stupid ass posts...Bruce was great for us, dont hate a guy for working hard and then getting a raise and being rewarded
