I was In Cleveland and you had fantastic support for him(t-shirts) and the team.
And he leaves for Tenn? A friggin dead end job from which he will be fired in 5-6 years. Tenn is a football school.
He should have had more loyalty to you all. Money is not everything.
Anyway, hope you guys make a great hire and return to the ncaa's next year.

He did a great job here, but he did jump at the first chance, signed with Tenn. 2 days after UWM lost in Sweet 16. I don't think he thought it over at all. WHat is so frustrating about this is that I still like him, mad at him, and also think that he used UWM as a stepping stone. Nice guy, but not the guy that I always thought he was. I think with this next coach, even if he is more successful than bruce was, we shouldn't put him on a pedastal.

No offense, but right now UWM is a stepping stone job, just like Western KY. Univ. or any mid conf. school.

No offense but UT has been a stepping stone as well - to obscurity.
What is disappointing is that all this happened so fast that the players and school have not had a proper chance to celebrate a wonderful accomplishment.
I kind of had this foreboding when Bruce walked off the floor on Thursday. The UWM section is going nuts and he gives us a sort of a perfunctory acknowledgement. I wrote it off to the fact that they loss, but he obviously knew he was going.

Did BP take just one assitant coach with him or more? I read somewhere that he really raped us of our basketball coaching staff, say it aint so!
While it is unfortunate that he jumped on this job in 3 days, he did do many wonders here at UW-Milwaukee, and for that, I am proud...

Feel free to make hillbilly jokes if that makes you feel better.
I do know what it feels like being a former student at Western KY Univ, with coaches like Clem Haskins, Ralph Willard and Dennis Felton leaving once they find success. I am in no way saying that UT is a great basketball job, but it is better than any school in a smaller conference like the Horizon right now.

I think he brought 2 coaches. The Jones guy is one. Don't know much about them though.

A head coach is only as good as his staff, as Buzz showed. How good are these assistants?

Doh. Well then I suppose the only thing returning next year is the team, which is under new management... That opens up a whole other can of worms as far as changing styles of play that the team has finally adjusted too etc. But I will save that for other threads that are sure to come....

Shay, Jones, Johnson, and Moore are gone. History. BP took them all. Not yet. Only Jones and Shay are gone as of now. www.jsonline.com/sports/coll/mar05/313367.asp"Remaining behind, at least temporarily, were assistant coach Ken Johnson and director of basketball operations Kendrick Moore. There is a possibility they could still join Pearl at Tennessee, but Pearl reportedly will interview some assistants from former coach Buzz Peterson's staff."

Good to hear Jones is a recruiter. Apparently Pearl made a good impression on the team. Chris Lofton, a all-SEC freshman and best player on the team last year, pretty much said he was going to transfer when they fired Petersen. After meeting with Pearl, he is staying. There are also 2 high profile players, Tyler Smith and Jamont Gordon, that UT was heavily involved with (Smith was a committment/signee)...will be interesting to see how that pans out, but Gordon has already met with Pearl apparently.

The funny thing is Vol,
if you think pearl wont drop you in a heartbeat if he gets an offer from a basketball school you are sadly mistaken. If UWM was a stepping stone, you can bet you ass tenn is.
