We couldnt have asked for more. UIC and Loyola beat the sh*t out of each other. the game went into overtime. Tomorrow we have a tired, bruised, and probably emotionally drained Loyola team. Cant wait to see everyone tomorrow.

I must say that was one of the best games I have been at in while. Got to give props to Schilb for basically putting Loyola on his back tonight. Just an amazing effort by that kid.
Tomorrow I really like our chances. Our depth and press should be the difference in the game. (Plus a tired Loyola team won't hurt) Lets get it done tomorrow and move on to Tuesday!
Go Panthers!

4 ! wow! you are dedicated.
Anyways, i would like to start off by thanking chris hill tonight. We sat right next to the UIC crowd and they would start spating at us when we were cheering against both teams. Chris, the smooth dude he was, stood up for us and said, "hey, leave my fans alone." that chris is so dreamy.
anyways, i would also like to thank ced banks. this will be the only nice thing i will ever say about him. But towards the end of the game, when all the other players were doggin it. Ced was running at his normal speed, if not it felt faster. i would also like to thank ced for playing his last college basketball game in front of me. granted, UIC doesnt squeeze out another year of eligability for him. you never know.
other citings. we saw adrian. hes so dreamy too. we saw mark pancratz. he looks alot bigger when he wears his puffy chicago coat. and we saw the man himself bruce pearl.
thats enough thank yous. if you read all that, wow. youre dedicated also. onto to the game stuff
Loyola opened up chucking three balls every chance they got. it didnt get them that far, but its something that will stick in the back of my head for tomarrow. they are not worried to play uwm's perimeter game. the first half was for UIC but the second half when loyola switched to a zone defence things didnt go so well for UIC, it was like they werent ready for the zone. FYI- bruce get ready for the zone.
I was very impressed with the sophomore (blake) who scored 39 points. im not sure but that might be a post season record. but he did carry that team. this guys is definetly going to be the man to beat in years to come. ed, will definetly have his work cut out for him tomarrow night. as elliote poole(boy) would say "It's really hard to lose a game like this. It's hurtful because we thought we played hard. I thought we gave it all we had, but we had no answer to Schilb and that was the difference in this game."
Also Majak, (feed him!) played excellent too. Someone were going to have to worry about. I think jason mccoy would make a great match up. However, we can sleep easily tonight bc majak took the majority of all hits tonight. it was crazey. one time he took a hard hit, and had to hold onto a teammate for support.
something were going to have to worry about. i believe that loyola took around 38 free throws. i dono if it was UIC, the refs, or just the game, but they shot from the charity stripe alot. i cant find box notes yet for the game. but i would say that loyola was pretty consistent for the most part. however, they could of put the game away an avoided ot by making those crucial free throws at the end of the game. so panther fans, get into their heads tomarrow!
an boy was that game physical. let the bodies hit the floor. i kinda feel bad saying that people threw their bodies into this one, but this is the type of team we want to play.
wow wow wow.
last note, do not make fun of the detroit male cheerleaders. the girl cheer leaders will laugh at them. and their responce was not coherent. something about ron artest and 8 mile. not sure. see you tomarrow panthers!

Hey, this is my first time posting here, even though I have been watching this board for a while. It's very interesting to watch how much all of the fans get into games and really support your team. I only hope that we can get a turnout like that one day in Green Bay, though it will take some time. It probably also helps that you have more students at your school.
Anyway, I think that it is good how successful your team has been over the last few seasons. It is hard to really be optimistic about that success because your success generally means that UWGB is left back. There are many times that I am angry at UWM, but I realize that you're fighting for the same thing that UWGB is fighting for right now. Both teams are fighting for success and respect. The only difference is that UWM has been more successful so far.
Anyway, looking at tomorrow's games, they are both going to be very interesting. Though UWGB just lost to Detroit about a week and a half ago, a lot can change. I wouldn't be surprised to see a remotivated and reenergized UWGB team on Saturday. It probably won't hurt that Detroit will probably be a little tired, as well. In your game against Loyola, it looks like it will be an interesting one. I think that Loyola is the tougher out of the two teams, even though UIC had more tournament experience. It will be a good game, considering that the two teams are the hottest teams in the Horizon League right now. I think that UWM will probably come out with this win, though.
I have an interesting question, as well. I don't know if any UWM fans will be going to the first game, but, in general, who do you support in the UWGB/Detroit game? I don't know who you would rather see in the championship game. Both teams could provide problems for you, so I don't know how you feel about it.
That's about all I have. If you want to keep up to date on anything within the Horizon League, check out my blog. I believe a link was listed somewhere within my profile stuff, so you can find it there.

I think the resounding answer throughout this board is that we want to play GB IF we were to defeat Loyola. But we must beat Loyola first.
Our best argument cannot be that Loyola will be tired because we all know that they're gonna be in zone ALL night. (If they're not then their coach should be fired from his job and shot by a fan for stupidity) Zone takes a lot less energy and they can rest up with this every defensive possession. We have to hit our 3's or this will turn into the Home-detroit game in a hurry. This is the only answer or we're gonna look like Kansas has lately.
On a lighter note, we know the focus of our team's offense has changed to the perimeter game and we know that almost our whole team has a very good shot from behind the line. We WILL win and we will be here Tuesday. There's no other option. (God I'm pumped)

Last night's game most certainly did go as well as we could have wanted. I feel that the best chance Loyola will have is if we come out flat (see: Butler game) and are cold from the field. If we're hitting shots, we will be pressing ALL NIGHT, and there is no way that Loyola is going to hold up down the stretch if that's the case.
Schlib played 34 minutes on Tuesday, and 42 yesterday. He's going to have to play at least 35 tonight, and frankly, I think that's just too much to ask, IF we are pressing. If Loyola can slow it down, and make it a half-court game, then all bets are off.
p.s. Props to Loyola for a very nice showing of fan support. Seemed to be 4 times more than UIC.

I like the idea of two Wisconsin teams playing on ESPN, and I know that the atmosphere at the cell will be awesome. Not to discount Detroit and their fans, but I think we could possibly see 1,500+ UWGB fans in the house. That makes for an exciting scene. Plus, it will feel even better when we kick your ass! Of course, it would be better for our RPI if Detroit wins and then we beat them, but I'm done worring about the RPI. Just win baby!!

It was certainly a tough decision on who I wanted to win last night. Playing UIC would be great to finally put to rest their line of "we beat you in the finals last year". I also wanted to see Loyola win because it would be cool to finally see Schlibb play and it still puts UIC in their place.
Interesting note about the dominant presence of Loyola fans over UIC fans, especially considering that Loyola is on break right now.
As for the GB vs UDM game, on the assumption that the winner would be playing UWM (with a win over Loyola) it becomes a tough decision. Both teams served us our losses, although UDM was a home loss. However, a matchup between UWM and UWGB would be an awesome turnout! UWGB fans are coming out of the woodwork this year, and it's only an hour 1/2 drive to the Udub for them.
T minus 2 hours til departure for the Udub...and probably passing the few UIC fans as they drag their tails home!
