Hey guys, now I know we all love Bruce around here and he has done absolute wonders to the program. However, I dont want us to take him for granted. He could leave here any day for a bigger program. We have to appreciate him and let him know that we appreciate him. I think we should start up some chant about him staying at UWM.
Anyone have any suggestions for tonight. We need to keep him in order for this program to keep making the strides that it is

I know in general the wives of basketball coaches know how much time and effort goes into their husbands passion of basketball and know that moving might be a part of the deal....but here is my thinking....his daughter is at UW...I think the one son is what a soph in hs...and the other maybe 3rd grade.....but with Steve being a soph or so I dont see them uprooting him and moving with him only having two years of school left...I honestly think family will keep him grounded and he has said it before...his roots are real and they are strong...so I have a hunch whatever comes his way he turns down and some sort of private donation bumps his annual salary up some more....just a guess but he stays and gets paid very nicely...

Don't worry...He's getting a nice deal on a pretty nice basement remodel.

I wouldn't worry too much, the coaching fraternity is tight, and Bruce crossed some serious lines. (Whether or not I agree with that, is a nother topic) I dont think he will be given the chance to coach because of "the tapes".
I don't see Bruce ever getting the big call up, from a major conference, and I would think that it would be hard for him to leave such a good situation at UWM, in the Horizon.

Bruce was interviewed on Ch. 12 last night. He was asked if he would leave if a bigger school offered. He said that it had to be a no brainer in order for him to leave. He said UWM has and gives a great opportunity. He said he is happy and is very committed. He said one more time that it has to be a no brianer.
It sounded good, but still, keeping my fingers crossed.

My biggest concern is and always has been the Iowa job opening up. I think, given Bruce's history, that would be a "no brainer." So, despite my hatred of the Haweyes, I hope they win just enough to keep Alford employed.
I don't think the issue of ratting out Jimmy Collins is going to prevent too many offers from coming in at his point. Head coach hiring decisions are made by ADs and ADs are concerned about winning. They will try to hire the guy who they think can get the best results.

Bruce is not going to Iowa any time soon.
First off the AD at Iowa has said that he is no way would think of hiring Bruce. For whatever reason he doesn't have much admoiration(sp?) for Bruce STILL steeming from the whole deon thomas thing (what a f--king joke IMO). From a few blurds that i have heard to Bruce doesn't seem to be in teh corner of the AD either, the little bit that i have heard he doesn't like the way that Dr. Tom Davis got treated before getting the axe. So i would really not worry to much at this time abot Bruce jumping ship. The main reason is that it would take a "no brainer" for him to up root his family right now being that Bruce's oldest son is a soph. in high school right now.
But that being said hopefully we will see just how long Bruce is willing to stay and be THE MAN in Milwaukee ;D
