You Rambler fans are a bunch of morons! You adopt the Pearl/Collins issue like it is your problem, and it's not! The only thing you have in common is that you're in the same damn state. Everyone thought you looked like a bunch of idiots because you couldn't come up with something more recent than that. We at UWM don't care about it and just want to put it behind us. And can someone explain to me why anyone would have golfballs in their pockets at a bball game anyways???
"Braided Mullet" is out of line? Give me a break.
A sub 2,682 for attendance against the top team in the conferene...just sad.
Quote OC Rambler: "WOW! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks, Maggs! I had no idea that's why we made fun of Pearl so much, or why Deon Thomas's name gets chanted every time UWM comes to town. Collins and Pearl are both scum; good coaches, but scum. What Pearl did was out of control, but there's no way I can believe Jimmy was squeaky clean down in Champagne. "
---I sincerely hope that this is heavy sarchasm I'm reading! Although, I'm sure a majority of your students really didn't know why they were chanting that either.
For all your Rambler fans, start winning some games and you can start talking to us, because we're at the top of the Conference, and we're there because of Pearl! Now get out of our hair until next year!

Jesus, you think im sensitive? you think i sayed up all night worrying about how your fans didnt act as well as we did? you think i dont know our fans act poorly sometimes? you think i dont personally act poorly sometimes? i realize all of this. this is a discussion board. i sounded madder than i am becuase it promotes discussion. i knew you would check, i knew you would respond. i knew this would start some convo, some people would actually get mad, other would respond. those we just observations from last night. people threw sh*t at me. i have never thrown anythign at anyone at a basketball game. nor have i flipped anyone off at a basketball game (that i remember). im not saying either of these things that the LU fans did really hurt me. they just did them and i felt like telling others about them.the cheerleader thing was mean though.
well im gonna eat my whopper with cheese. no pickles, not tomatos......those buttholes...they forgot to remove the tomatos....later

Yes, Krazie, that was some "heavy sarchasm." Or sarcasm. Either way. And we're the morons.

All i have to say is that the game last night made me sick. The whole game we had to catch up to the ramblers and that was not fun. Especially with Chris Hill out of the game it was just frustraiting. The refing was pretty much bad both ways. most of the time the crowd was confused about what the refs were calling. Cheering, only to find out the panthers had the ball.
I really do think the ramblers have a really great basketball team. In fact i do not know why they are not good this year. I would say its not an experienced teamed but the major down falls last night was when the sr guards took really bad shot selections in the last minute. They really could of took 5 more seconds to walk around a screen. But they just ran down the court and rifled the ball over the hoop.
Crowd Stuff. The game kind reminded me of valpo except with a win. The crowd got more into the game bc the road panther fans. (who all deserve the biggest pat on the back for going) But i must note that this is the only road game were we had something thrown at us. its a good try. Throw something at us and we will throw it back only to have the police kick us out of the game. (yawn) I guess that was just frustration of your team losing. BUt the rambelers were up when the rambler crowd started to do it. oh well maybe it was just a few bad apples. But in the end , i got the last laugh because one time the rambler crowd hit one of the priest who were walking by. Sweet sweet irony. those balls while relativly soft and squishy once thrown, i believe is pretty much the jerkiest/classless/tasteless thing you can do at the gym. Not that is truly bad its the only thing you could do bad.
Now you could come up with some mean cheers but those are just words. Like we could of said. "The Jews are right." Bruce Pearl being jewish, and your school being 100% jeseuit, we could of took it to you spriritually. But that would of really got your crowd going. So it wasnt an option. But that still wouldnt be that bad because its just words. and words dont hurt people. But thats some hypothetical situation in my head.
I kinda agree with joey on the deon thomas thing. I dont know if you know this, but you cant rattle a coach. He wont play any worse. He wont forget to call a time out. He wont tell our team the wrong play scheme even if you have a sign up of jimmy collins. You rattle the players. Not the coach. Just some advice. Lets say that your cheer made sense. and you get coach pearl mad. SO WHAT. Pearl gets a great fill of being mad at refs making bad calls every game. Do you really think your sign with Jimmy collins was going to put him over the edge. Man you guys are dumb. wait im sorry. Man you guys have no idea what youre doing.
Now that weve discussed that making fun of the coach really does not do much. Lets discuss that the cheer itself did not apply to the game. Both coaches were going to shake hands at the end of the game. The cheer doesnt effect anyone on the court, maybe you guys felt good about yourself cheering for that. but you might as well of cheered "christian science is right." It would of had the same effect. A word of advice, Bruce has said he likes it when the student crowd gives him some comments. But they have to be witty. Even though, you guys dug something up from the past, and you read the news papers. That was not witty. more importantly it had nothing to do with the game. the only thing it dealt with was coach pearl. and look were that got you. A Loss.
More advice. If an opposing player run nears your student section. Do not come near him. You are just asking for troubles. Im speaking about when James Wright's momentum took him near your crowd. Do not touch him. You are not worthly of getting in his face. You are just asking to get ejected. Plus you all know what happened at Detroit and i would hate for some who could snap you in two give you a swift right jab. Maybe thats what you wanted. But its just dumb to touch an opposing player.
Then you made fun of our cheer leaders. We would of reciprocated but that could be somebodies mother and thats just wrong to make fun of somebodies mother. Please, please, please think about doing that again. I mean, your guys dont have a miss america on your team. and the girls in the black out fits. Why target the cheerleaders? Yet another component of the game you guys cheered at and cheerleaders really dont get rattled to the point where it effects the game. (yawn)
The braided mullet is tasteless comment. so you tell me, business up front, party in the back. Just braided. I do believe that is an accurate depiction of what the hair looks like. and it is ugly. If you find that distasteful maybe you should give up basketball because there are alot of things people say that are way worse. In fact that was prolly the cheer most acceptable.
speaking of Rambler players. Will someone feed maja. Honestly. THe kid looks anerexic.
Ok, so in the end. Nothing that bad happened at the high school gym last night. The crowds didnt get into a fight we should be happy about that. But thats only due to the fact that there were 3 guys pissed at our crowd and walked over only to be laughed at. tisk tisk. i honestly thought we needed a police escort. To conclude, the rambler crowd while small but sweet, should really get their act together. Stop throwing the balls, and come up with cheers that pertain to the game. Then we wont have to say youre dumb.
I have grammer and spelling mistakes. If anyone has a problem with it, please correct it for me and have it on my desk tomarrow morn. Dont forget about the new tps cover letter.

Don't really want to chime in on this but here it goes ...
OCRambler,
Don't you think it's a little "hippocritical" of you to be correcting someone's grammar?
Or hypocritical?
Either way.

homeboy, didn't mean to direct anything directly at you, I realize noone is losing sleep over this stuff, it just seems like after every game we have one of these discussions over who's fans did what and so on.
That was a long post by dunzz.
They tossed golf balls? That's a little scary.
Either way, Go Panthers. ;D

I was at the game, and I thought that the loyola fans were incredibly NICE and RESPECTFUL. When we left the cheerleaders told us "THANKS FOR COMING, COME AGAIN, DRIVE BACK SAFELY." then some of the old alumni gave us Loyola calanders and said how good of a game it was.
To Bruceismyhomeboy: 1. Does it really bother you that some of the crowd threw plastic basketballs at us? 2. Our cheerleaders are not very attractive, their's were much worse though. 3. Deon thomas and Jimmy collins was a good way to get into Bruce's head. I'm sure we would have done the EXACT same thing as them.

Seriously people, is it really that big of a deal? I wasn't there, but I'm sure you guys were supporting our team, just as they were theirs. As for the Deon Thomas thing, I'm surprised more schools haven't done that. What's the difference between that and wearing flesh colored body suits when UWGB comes back to town? There is none. It's a part of being a fan, just like UWGB's "Bite Me" shirts. Again, I thought that was pretty humorous and I'd hope our students would do something similar if the situation presented itself.
I love our fans, don't get me wrong. And the student support this year has been phenomenal. But seriously, why do we have to b**** and moan about what we do, what they do, etc. All that should matter is what happens on the court.

Agreed. Here here. Do you expect other fans to "bow down" to us when we enter their buildings? I agree.........let the fans/students do what they want. If they aren't physically hurting our fans, I don't see why we are even concerned about it. Our fans do some pretty wild/crazy/nutty/dumb stuff as well, we can only hope that others overlook it. That is part of the fun/excitement of college bball. Hey hack, opponents may not "bow down" when we walk in the building, but they do demand that we (and the team) "SIT DOWN"..........lol (Purdue).

That's what they get for building their court on a plateau. I think my neck is still sore from watching that game via the scoreboard. Probably why it took us 30 minutes to get back to the highway ... kaygee could only look up, not ahead! ;D

Guess what people. This is a discussion board. It is for discussing. We can say whatever we want, about whatever and you have to read it. If somebody doesn't like the fact that we are complaining, too friggin bad. Nice Post Dunzz! ;D
