GB game is history, the BB is almost 3 weeks away, and WSU is a looooong road trip, but UIC is right around the corner. I can only hope all is that could be done on campus to get people to the cell (and on ESPN2) is being done Sorry GB, our #1 rival is coming to town with little to lose. Get your friends to the game. Go Panthers...take care of WSU.

I think that this will be our biggest game of the year. UIC is going to come in and they will be ready to play, but I think we are going to be pissed off, and ready to roll over them. I expect a big turnout for this game. At least 8,000. It's a bold perdiction on attendance but I feel it for this game.

i think that i am going to have to agree with Hack on this one, 8,000 is a bit steap. trust me i would love to see it and i really really hope that the fact that it is a game that is on national tv will be a HUGE draw but something tells me that it won't be. I don't want to be the one that tries to bring everyone down with this one but i guess i just want to leave it open to be impressed is all.
Hey anyone know what time they are going to let us in on saturday?? I plan on being there way early cuz man do i want to just get to lay into UIC. its been awhile since i have been able to make it to a game before tip-off(damn work) so i think i got to make up for lost time.

Im guessing you guys will have a big crowed im not going to say 8000, but maybe 6500, I dont think there will be too many flames fans, i know ill be watching. Since I wont be there, i can only wonder what youll have in store, since there is no more mcgee.

The 1pm start time makes me think that 8,000 is pretty unrealistic. I would LOVE to see 6,500 there.
Please get the word out, and beg if necessary to get people in the seats. Students: I expect a HUGE turnout. Please don't let me down! ;D

I agree........the attendence at the last afternoon game was disappointing - however, the outcome was not! I think we will once again see the large, lively student section that has been missing for some time. If we get more than 7,000 I will be very surprised.

Honestly, a crowd of 6,500 would have to be considered huge after what UWM drew for the Green Bay game. Of course, I realize there were a lot of mitigating factors -- the weather, school not in session, etc.

i was on ticketmaster looking for some other tickets and noticed they have the UWM/UIC game as the "spotlight feature" in the Milwaukee region. good to see some advertising for people shopping for tickets for milwaukee events. maybe it reminds or attracts a few more people. either way i hope we draw a good crowd for this one being on national tv.

i as a student, know there are a lot more students interested in going to this game! I myself have drawn an unusally large amount of people that want to attend this show down. (that is because i have been blabbing my mouth about the game almost the whole month of Jan. ;D) I believe that there will be a suprisingly large turn out and i think that we might just pack the entire cell! I think just as big as teh UIC Tourny game last year! minus the guys from UIC that said they are not going! but who really cares about that! i rather have less fans than UIC fans in our house! So if you are not a season ticket holder or not a student i advise you to go out and reserve your tix right now! this weekend is going to be crazy! Go uwm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wonder if Bruce will give his usual pre-game prep talk to the students for this one as well as the others that have been on ESPN(Butler 2 years ago & UIC last year)............guess we will have to wait and see would be nice to hear that talk again.

With ESPN in town, good weather and Classes back in session this should be the biggest crowd of the season, I've been waiting for this game since last year when those UIC fans rushed our court and made it a point to come over to our student section and rub it it. I'm not saying that I will be rushing the court after a win against UIC (that would be like the Norh Carolina mens basketball team rushing the court after beating their water polo team in an exibition game) I'm just saying that I will enjoy the weekend and the win a whole lot more ;D GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!

Good point on the ESPN note. I recall in past years having great turnouts for ESPN games. Unfortunately, the crowds can be excess baggage of fairweather/bandwagon fans just fighting for the 10 seconds of fame in the front row of the student section...an area informally reserved for active die hard fans!
In the end though, it's minor issues compared to a win over our rival!
