Possible Match-ups:
Hill - Morris: Draw McCants - Mendiburu: UWM Davis - Rhode: Tough Call, UWGB. Tucker - Koenig: UWM Tigert - Lawrence: Draw UWM Bench - UWGB Bench - UWGB
Not trying to be homer, but UWGB does not have any players better than McCants or Tucker. Not even close. UWGB is a team of role players, who play great team basketball and know how to get things done. GB manages to get a 1-2 guys just under 15pts, then the rest score 7-8 points. Basically a huge team effort. Lawrence impresses me the most, so Tigert's tough D will have to keep him below 10 points.
I think UWGB might be forced in to a faster line-up for most of the game. Lawrence and Morris wont be able to keep up with us if Tucker plays most of the game at power forward.
Run them into the ground. Press the entire game.
Later, UWMfreak UWM 73, UWGB 68

I am looking forward to UWGB, put lets not take YSU for granted, considering they did beat us last year. I said it at the beginning of the season and I will say it again, thank God Doug Underwood is not playing anymore for YSU. That guy always seemed to find his stoke against us. I do think that we should beat them easily, then again I said that last year too. Lets take care of business on Weds. and then we can start to focus on kicking UWGB's ass.

I hear you on YSU. I'll take a one point victory right now. They always give us trouble - should have beaten us at Klotsche last year. Talk about a trap game.

Goolsby's will always be the pregame for me. Two hours before gametime sounds good. I just have to control myself on gameday. I tend to get too excited and go down there 3-4 hours before tip off. Then some of the anticipation starts to where off. And I tend to eat more than 1 of their delicious burgers.

I know this hasn't been especially well-publicized or promoted, but the Alumni Association is sponsoring a major pep rally on the second floor of Turner Hall before the game beginning at 11:30 a.m. BP, the cheerleaders and band are all scheduled to make an appearance. This would be the place for any UWM die-hard to go.

"hasn't been well-publicized" would be an understatement.......this is the first I heard of it - and last time I checked, the diploma hanging on my wall in my office had the following letters UWM. How exactly does the Alumni Association go about promoting events, because I rarely hear about them until after the fact.?

Usually with leaflets or pieces or scratch paper passed out at post-game gatherings. What do you think, No. 30? Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

I get your drift, I'll see what I can do. Also, there is going to be some turnover within the Alumni Association, with changes to come.

Usually with leaflets or pieces or scratch paper passed out at post-game gatherings. What do you think, No. 30? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Well, if the majority of their "marketing" is done at pre and post game events that would explain why I don't know about them. However, if that is the primary medium for their promotion, I think they are missing quite a few potential event participants. IMHO by only promoting at the pre and post games, it is moreorless like "preaching to the choir" - these are the people that are already there, and will continue to be there no matter if the AA has an event or not. There is no question that there is a considerable market for the AA to hit up - but the age old question is how to do that. Nate, I don't want it to make it seem like I am pointing fingers or calling anyone out. I know how hard marketing and promotion is, and with some of the behind the scenes things that go on at UWM, it doesn't make it any easier. I am just throwing out some ideas and my $0.02, so take it for what it is worth. Again, I don't want to make it seem like I am just flaming away - I know that you (and others) are working hard. We just need to find you a way to work smarter, not harder.
