This is a petition for Adrian Tigert to step up or at least outside of himself and become a more viable scoring threat. Unselfishness or timidness is the only thing preventing A.T. from putting up several more points per game. Yes, he's shooting 62.9 percent from the field and 47.9 percent from three-point range in over 31 minutes per game. But how much greater could his average of 9.6 points per game be if he were to take more than 5.6 shots and 1.9 three-pointers per game? A perfect case in point was the bypassed three-pointer with five seconds left on the shot clock in the first half against Detroit. He had a completely open look and he threw it to the corner to a covered Boo Davis. Not a good choice by a very skilled player. It's even OK to take a bad shot once in a while, Adrian.

here is my insight on the game! For us to win, ed needs to continue playing amazing (38 pts on monday! Ed is my hero! ;D) everyone knows that JT has to step it up! he is a huge part to our winning, even if he does not score 15, he needs to grab a couple more rebounds. Chris Hill must start and play most of the minutes at point! very crucial to our up tempo style. AT, well what can i say about him, he is the man, he always gets his. I am counting on him to have another near double double. I have lost faith in big D, he has a lot to prove before i include him in our winning scheme. Pancrats, he is also very crucial to us winning, his defense and assists help, and Jason McCoy needs to keep up his good defense, i like when he is the guy applying the pressure on an imbound passes. he forced 2 turnovers on monday doing so. my prediction for the game is that UWM will win..... if they play good pressure D, defend the three, and start Chris Hill! It will be a close game. Good Luck panthers, we really need this one!

Dyalnrocks, I completely disagree with you on this one. Nothing personal here at all, I don't even know you, lol, but A.T. has been the only consisten thing this team has seen all year. Day in day out he gets HIS job done, to best help the team to a victory. He knows his limits, and plays within them. And a pass to boo davis (a shooting guard) seems like a pretty good look to me. I would also say that 31 min. per game is pretty damn good in itself. He is down low bangin all game, comin up with some huge offensive reb's (i.e. UIC game) and doing absolutely more than anyone in this program could ever ask. Now, if anyone on this team needs to step up, let it be McCoy or Ford, or even Boo Davis for that matter. These "key transfers" haven't done a thing all year. Oh, wait, they played well against Prarie View . Adrian plays well outside of his limits, and covers up for the mistakes a lot of these other guys make. So my call goes out to D Ford to step it up a notch. NOT adrian. thanks, later

I don't think Dylanrocks was calling out AT saying he wasn't doing his job........In fact, I think we all can agree that AT has been one of the few, if any, constants this year. All he was saying, and I agree, is that it seems that AT could do even more than he currently is. Sure, he passed it to a shooting guard (Boo) in the corner, but AT is shooting a much better percentage than the "shooting guard", not to mention he was more open. Now this is just one example, but it is no secret that AT is a VERY unselfish team player - the type of player who is best placed with players like Clay, Ronnie, Dylan, etc. Unfortunately, we don't have "go to" guys like that this year, and AT, as a team leader, must shoulder more of the burden to help this team win - and that may mean being a tad bit more selfish. I love that he is shooting in the 60%'s from the field, but with the trouble we have had scoring lately, all that means to me is that he NEEDS to take a few more shots. I think AT is having one heck of a year, but if there was ever a time for him to step outside the box, and try to elevate his game a little more, the time is now. I have no problem with AT shooting a bad shot or two, knowing he can make up for it be playing solid "D", getting a steal, a big board, etc. What I don't like is someone like McCoy taking a bad shot, because more than likely it is just a possession lost (as an example).

I love AT's game. He is a "glue" guy who makes everyone else a little better, an excellent technician in the post and an excellent passer, probably the best pure assist man on the team right now.
Having said that, Adrian had a bad game against Detroit.
I think it may be glaring to some people because it happens so rarely and because those other players that AT usually makes better with back-door passes for dunks or kick-out passes for easy threes were left to fend for themselves.
If AT and Joah snap back and Ed keeps Butler honest, UWM should be fine.

i'm not really sure what to make of this game. butler's one of those teams that scares me no matter if they're up or down. either way they have shooters and we can't defend the perimeter to save our lives. that could be a problem yet again this year. if they go on a terror like they did last year it could be a long long night. i would hope after getting lit like a xmas tree from beyond the arc against detroit, along with not getting through the easiest of screens, BP spent some time working on that. if we defend the arc, get through screens, and have a couple of the better players step up i think we'll be ok. it's such a strange year... this team has looked brilliant at times and dreadful at others. i hope we find some consistency at some point. there's no excuse for joah not to step it up, ed has found his shot, AT is a rock, hill is consistently productive... ford has to play like a man, i'm really dissapointed is in the way he DOESN'T use his body to muscle people around. boo davis needs to know when he's on and when he's not. so many times he presses and puts himself in out of control situations.
we'll see. i think this will be very telling game.
GO PANTHERS!!!

Amazing move by Bruce. I'm upset I didn't see it myself. Tucker was playing too much wing and we need a real 3 pt threat at the 3 spot in order for this offense to be effective. I like tucker and AT in the post.
Thumbs up

Well, we all knew that it would be difficult to go into Hinkle and get a "W", and BU did not disappoint. IMHO both teams did their best at trying to give the game away, luckily for UWM the clock ran out before they had the chance to be "equal opportunity" again. haha But seriously, we made some really big plays, but also made some plays that left me scratching my head. I guess it really doesn't matter thought because the only thing that really matters is that we left town with a "W". I have to give some props to JT. He came out of the blocks with something to prove. He demanded the ball right from the get go, and when he did not get it, he went after loose balls/rebounds like they really ment something, as if he had something to prove. This is the JT that we all know and love. ;D Ed had a fairly rough game, but at least was able to give us something. Again, AT did the dirty work and is the unsung hero. I was a little surprised at the amount of PT that Allen got. He didn't do anything negative, yet he didn't really do anything positive either......guess that is ok for a blow or two, but he played a lot more than I would have guessed. Chris played a solid game again (with the exception of the free throws at the end), but nothing spectacular. Boo seemed to play within himself for the most part - and he helped us out there tonight. At the end of the day, it wasn't pretty, but it is in the left column and that is all that really matters. Lets get ready for Sat.

Very big win for the guys tonight. Although we shot for crap from beyond the arch (2-15) and the ending was very shaky. We came through in a situation where we were down going into the final minutes of the game. This was our must win game and we won so lets take this momentum into Loyola and head into next week 3-1 in conference play

Pnther30 - As I listened to Darren Sutton complain about the "long" 7 hour drive down to Indy because of the weather it brought back memories of a bus trip to Indy that I think took like 9 hours literally crawling down to Indy with no one else on the highway...do you remember that?

i just have to say that i think butler has some of the dirtiest MFers ever. it was like all of their big guys are just out there to drop a shoulder into someone (maybe that explains why 20 had that shoulder thing on) and i think it was #24 (Ligdon)dropped two of our players on on posession by lowering his shoulder into them while setting a pick. the second time he did it (on one posession) we was called, but it was still bull.
did anyone else have a problem with james wrights "foul" when the guy (brooks maybe) ran down court and barreled into him. i was watching it with my DV-R (great investment everyone should get one) and we rewinded it. it was so blatant, he just slammed into james and james was called with a block. it was total bullsh*t.
well anyways, im glad we won and joah stepped up. good that we won while shooting 2-15 in 3's, seing how those 2-3's were our first 2 baskets of the game. we did what was needed to win. it was fun watching smalligan getting thrown around like a rag doll
i've got a couple ideas for things to chant a butler players when they come up
smalligan - Balding Graves - Fugly
whatever, i just think that some of the butler players are dirty as hell. polk was talking the whole game too, and accoring to sheet's reactions he never fouls anyone ever.
See Everyone on Sat at Goolsbys

Yes, I sure do remember that. I remember a lot of "long" bus trips. haha But then again, even many of the rides home from Chicago seemed "long". I think the worst one had to be when we played at Iowa State (in Ames Iowa). For some reason we didn't fly (couldn't find a flight/airport/etc.) so we decided to bus the 400 mile (one way trip). We left in the midst (and drove straight through) one of the worst snow storm I have ever seen - definitely the worst I have ever experienced while driving/riding. THe way there took twice as long as it should have. And then there was that one time coming home from Western Illinois....haha the list goes on. Ohh the memories.

I have to agree. I watched that play several times (actually over and over, my wife was like, let the game play already.haha), and I don't know what James did. My only explanation would be that maybe he did something earlier that the camera didn't catch. Another call that I thought was BS occurred in almost the same spot on the court. Smalligan set a pick on Chris (I believe) and basically just callapsed on him, not to mention moving into him before he "fell" on him - well Chris got called for a foul. Overall, I think the refs did a pretty decent job given the physical nature of this game, but there are several plays that stick out (as with any game I guess).
