Just checking up on the Preason NIT and the official web site has listed the complete bracket. Interestingly, if the Panthers can squeeze one out at Memphis the team will see our old friends from Alabama. I know we are suppose to take it one game at a time. www.nit.org/pre-bracket.cfm

that would be a great rematch...i can only imagine the hunger that the Alabama players would have to get some revenge against us....they were embrassed by a team on the national stage last year...few people knew about the talent UWM had and thus this was a major upset except for those of us who actually picked UWM in the sweet sixteen

i think we'd have more of an advantage this year w/ the starters we return and AL losing Kennedy Winston and Earnest Shelton. if the snowball's chance in hell happens and Miami (OH) would win who gets the home game?

Once the Panthers win this game, does it count for the Regular Season record? Can anyone answer this?

"The Crimson Tide lost their projected starter at shooting guard when junior college transfer Ray George failed to qualify. Alabama will have just 10 scholarship players and a thin backcourt featuring Ronald Steele at the point and, most likely, a natural small forward like Jean Felix or Alonzo Gee on the wing. "Devastating for our team," is how coach Mark Gottfried describes it." www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/8787059

i saw on Memphis' board that Jeremy Hunt, the guy who had surgery on a torn ACL in April was seen walking around some fairgrounds w/ a cast on his right arm. nobody said what happend or when it happend or for how long he'll have it on but considering his previous injury could add another advantage for us since they'll have to rely on more inexperienced guys to step up.

wow, talk about sh*t hitting the fan for one guy. So Jeremy Hunt is going into this semester w/ a suspect knee, now a bad arm and a pending domestic assault charge that should be going to a grand jury w/in the next few months.
Assault charge shadows Hunt By Gary Parrish Contact August 30, 2005
General Sessions Criminal Court Judge Joyce Broffitt ruled in a preliminary hearing Monday that there is probable cause to move forward with the case against Jeremy Hunt, meaning the University of Memphis basketball player will likely enter his senior season with a domestic assault charge pending.
"He's a young man, and this is trying on his mind," said Hunt's attorney, Leslie Ballin. "But he denies these allegations." Hunt was arrested last January following an incident with his ex-girlfriend, Tamika Rogers, and charged with misdemeanor assault. Ever since, any on-the-court success has been overshadowed by these in-the-court proceedings that still seem far from complete.
It's probable a grand jury will get Hunt's case before the end of the year, and an indictment could follow, perhaps during basketball season. It's doubtful such a development would have an impact on Hunt's availability, considering the UofM has already punished the Craigmont High graduate with a two-game suspension, and indicated it will now take an innocent-until-proven-guilty approach.
Hunt averaged 9.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season. He is expected to compete for the starting shooting guard spot with freshmen Chris Douglas-Roberts and Antonio Anderson.
According to the article, it appears Memphis will have ESPN cameras at their Midnight Madness too.

Memphis, TN-University of Memphis point guard Andre Allen has been suspended indefinitely from the Tiger basketball squad for violating team policy. Allen, who's a sophomore walk-on, is in his first year of eligibility. The former all-state player at Booker T. Washington high school was expected to add depth at the point position.
Rumor has it he was busted in a prostitution sting.
