Bruce Pearl is a bit fuzzy when it comes to remembering exactly where he picked UW-Green Bay to finish in the Horizon League pre-season poll in which all the league's coaches are required to participate.
But he does know this much. It wasn't in first place.
"I thought they'd be in the middle of the league somewhere," the UW-Milwaukee coach said.

Big Phoenix men’s basketball game worth attending over Marquette’s at Resch[/b]
By Rob Demovsky

If you go to only one college basketball game this weekend at the Resch Center, make it Saturday’s game between the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee.
If you plan to attend that game plus Friday night’s game between Marquette and Southern Mississippi, stop reading here.
Otherwise, take note.
Sure, it’s Marquette’s first-ever appearance in Green Bay, and the Golden Eagles, who are coming off a trip to last year’s Final Four, are ranked No. 21 in the nation. But their appearance should take none of the spotlight away from the most important college basketball game to hit the area in nearly six years.

It wasn't easy, but the Panthers withstood Youngstown State's best effort of the season in an 80-74 UWM win Thursday night at the Klotsche Center. The Panthers built a 13-point lead in the first half and rebuilt the edge to 11 in the second half, only to see YSU close within four points on three occasions. But a final push down the stretch by the Panthers gave them their 15th-straight win at the Klotsche Center. Dylan Page and Ed McCants led the way with 20 points apiece for UWM.
