UWM will play the Montana Grizzlies @ Montana on 12/30. The school's (Montana) schedule was released 6/5. For those unfamiliar w/ Montana's recent success, they won the Big Sky tourney title last year, finished 2nd in the regular season, went 18-13 overall and were the 16th seed who lost to #1 seed Washington 88-77. They return 4 of 5 starters (2 of which were freshmen) and lost only one player to graduation.

ESPN is also reporting that UWM will play South Dakota State this season however it wasn't reported where/when. The school's website doesn't list the schedule yet and only mentions their recently signed contract w/ Minnesota. this isn't going to help our RPI.

Gotta imagine you got Dakota back in Milwaukee.
Did the report mention if South Dakota State is now "officially" Division I? Last season, they were on provisional status so the game did not affect RPI.

No it didn't, i checked the school's site as well but no mention if their officially in or not. how long did it take UWM when they became D1? i'd assume it'd be the same length of time. the coach did mention that since they're now D1 they should play the best but he was moreso referring to their game vs. IL.

Dosen't it take 3 years? For some reason that number sticks out in my head.

SD St will be a D1 school when UWM plays them next year. This past year was year 5 of 5 in the transition period.

Can't see us playing SDSU out there this year since they're just making the move to Div I.
Don't know that getting Montana on the road will help our RPI much as the Big Sky isn't much of a conference usually.

Any road victory will help, and we all know that the Panthers got alot of those last year!

And our RPI still wasn't that great because our conference wasn't that great. Plus, road victories against teams who have weak strength of schedule don't have all that big of an impact.

Why is it that some of these schools already have there 2005-2006 schedule released already, and hardly a peep from UWMs front?

School usually only announce their full schedule at one time, which is when it is finalized. Some schools release their nonconference schedule first, since they can get it finalized on their own time without waiting for the specific conference.
Since schools announce their schedule when it is finalized, each school releases their schedule at a different time. Most schools have not released their schedule yet, because it is not completed. There are a lot of elements that go into making and finalizing the schedule and the universities don't want to release a schedule, start soliciting ticket sales, and then have to make a bunch of changes.
