So who is it going to be? Bogut, Williams, Paul...........Mendiburu or Diener ?? With the Bucks recent track record with first round picks, I don't know what to think.

Marvin Williams easily, he's a ton more athletic than bogut, and has great growth potential

Worst Case scenario- they pick CPaul. Why? Paul is comparable and maybe inferior to Deron, and Felton in this draft. Either of which could be had with Charlotte's pick at 5. I'm sure the Bobcats would throw in their other lottery pick to sweeten the deal. This is only applicable if the Bucks think their biggest need is PG.
Best Case scenario-Andrew Bogut. Why? Although I feel that Marvin would be very close, the fact is that good rebounding big men who are a dominant presence in the low post are hard to come by. I realize that many picks have been wasted on size in past years but I can't imagine Bogut failing. Marvin plays SF. If he ever plays PF on a consistent basis I'd be surpised. The swing position is ALOT easier to fill than the PG and C. When you get a chance to pick Bogut you take him and hold onto him. Additionally, I'd love to see some Pittsnoggle action at the beginning of round 2
In order of preference I would 1. Bogut 2. Trade down for 2 1st rounders 3. Marvin

ill agree with fan, although im always a little leary of taking a big white dude, i think bogut might be the real deal, marvin will be good but i think it will take him a couple years, i still dont understand what the big deal is with redd, i mean hes good and all but to throw a max contract at a guy who was a reserve all star only one year is a little skeptical, bring back ray. im out

I think the Bucks will likely take Bogut, which is the "safe" pick. In the East, he'll be a top-3 center pretty quickly. He's fundamentally sound. But, he'll never be a dominating presence in the middle. He'll be a solid center for many years, but not a great one.
Marvin Williams will become a flat-out superstar, but it might take a couple years. The Bucks don't have a couple years to wait. And, drafting Marvin would pose lineup problems with D Mason. But, in five years, Marv will be the best player out of this draft.

From Espn
Team Needs: Power Foward or Center
The Skinny: The Bucks' backcourt should be set as long as Michael Redd re-signs and T.J. Ford returns to the team next season. Redd has said he plans to re-sign in Milwaukee, and Ford, who sat out the entire season, has been medically cleared to start playing again. So the Bucks can begin concentrating on their frontcourt. Their three-headed center of Dan Gadzuric, Zaza Pachulia and Calvin Booth was pretty good last season. However, both Gadzuric and Pachulia are restricted free agents. Their biggest need is at the four. Joe Smith was OK this year. What they really need is an athletic scrapper who crashes the boards hard, blocks some shots and can score in the paint. They've been high on Fran Vasquez for months, and he seems to fit the bill.
now that they are number in the draft. From espn's Mock Draft
Marvin Williams NORTH CAROLINA | FRESHMAN | SMALL FORWARD HEIGHT: 6-9 | WEIGHT: 230 | AGE: 18 Most scouts feel Williams is the guy with the most upside in the draft and Milwaukee's roster puts the Bucks in good position to take him. While Andrew Bogut could help too, Williams gives the Bucks the best shot at being a contender someday.
IT seems that the bucks will either take Williams or Bogut.

It does seem this way BUT we must remember these are the Bucks. They will find a way to screw it up. Have you seen their past draft results?

i think the bucks need to go w/ bogut b/c he's a guy who'll produce right away. i think williams is the better player and will have a better career but we need a guy who will be an impact now, not 2-3 years from now. if they do go w/ williams though i hope they put him at PF. i'm optimistic that the bucks won't F it up this year b/c despite their past pathetic failures this is a new front office and i believe they know how important this'll be. even though it won't happen i'd like to see us trade the pick to charlotte for their pick and Okafor. i love that guy.

being out on the west coast i would say bogut's the real deal. he's got range and size he's doesn't back down and can play d although 1 or 2 years in the association will cure him of that problem. i remember the bucks had their hands on a similar style player but they traded him for tractor trailer...what ever happened to that guy??? oh yeah perennial all star w/dallas. damn germans.

if the bucks take anybody other than Bogut i swear that i am giving up the NBA completely, granted i am yet to watch an NBA game this year in its entirety, but that would be the icing on the cake. No way should the Bucks take a guy that COULD NOT EVEN START for his team in college, and yes that team was stacked but come on you mean to tell me that he is that much better than these guys but yet could not break into the starting line-up?
That brings up my other problem with the NBA, their draft set-up sucks. it is stupid. The idea behind the NBA draft now-a-days is the you draft on the potential rather than the talent. Yes there have been exceptions to the rule but all these high-school kids are ruining what used to be an extremely fun sport to watch.
Just makes me LOVE college basketball even more.

I'm not sure which radio host brought it up, but these comparisons of Bogut to Brad Miller and Vlade Divac are unfair. Its easy to make them because these players all have the same skin color. Would it be so far off to make the comparison of Duncan to Bogut? It seems their games are just as comparable as the others and Bogut's performance against Duncan in head-to-head matchups would indicate that he at least appears superior to the "white" players formerly mentioned. The normal contention is that Bogut is not as explosive or athletic but it is tough to argue that Duncan is much better than him in either category. How can you not select this man? Furthermore, what I would love to see is that in addition to selecting Bogut, the Bucks should let the world know they are selecting Bogut. Make his jersey available on the team site pre-draft. Duncan, Shaq, Ming, and James were all known well in advance. This IS the draft of Andrew Bogut.

Just a quick update about the Bucks and their #1 pick. from espn insider.
• While most mock drafts, Insider excluded, have Andrew Bogut going No. 1, it still appears that Marvin Williams is not only in the running, but might have the edge.
The Bucks plan to bring in both players after the Chicago pre-draft camp and work them out. The results of the workouts probably will be the deciding factor for the Bucks. If Bogut looks stronger or more athletic than he did in college, he'll probably be a lock for the No. 1 pick. However, if Williams looks like he's ready to contribute right now, he'd be tough to pass on, especially when GM Larry Harris would then have the luxury of shopping Desmond Mason around the league.
The latest sign the Bucks may give Williams the nod comes from former Ute coach Rick Majerus, who reportedly is telling his close friend, owner Herb Kohl, that he's better off taking Williams. Considering how well Majerus knows Bogut (he recruited him to Utah), that should raise a few eyebrows.
