A few more quality mid-major opponents and we should be able to put the wraps on this. I don't think we'll see anything offical in July. Well, it's August.

ugh this is just the worst part of the year when the basketball season feels so far away. Can't wait to see this team play! I have a great feeling about the coming season

Just two more games to schedule, right? I don't recall us ever having no high-majors on the schedule. This definitely appears to be an altogether different philosophy. UCF is a Big 12 school, so technically we have a high-major. They're not traditionally a basketball power with only one tournament appearance since 2005, but they should have a solid SOS given their conference association. Not that it really matters for the Horizon. We're a win-the-conference-tournament-to-dance-only conference at this point. Though it's hard to argue the mental toughness teams like Oakland get from scheduling a tough, power conference early schedule.

1,000% agree, T-Bone, on the benefits of Oakland's schedule. IF you can arrange high-major foes, why not book them? After all, it creates a LOT more buzz for the fan base.

It does create buzz - especially if we can hang or even beat them. Plus we usually get paid for it! I think there's two sides to this. There is the tested-come-tournament-time aspect to scheduling that a difficult non-con with a number of high majors on the road schedule offers. I think this comes more easily and is seen more often on teams with little turnaround and lots of continuity among the core. Then there's the need for some teams to create some continuity and confidence - particularly when core pieces have gone. We already seem to have really slow starts under Lundy, so maybe he's trying to play on a more level playing field early on, in order to figure out the rotations and get the guys some confidence. I don't know. But I would, like you, like to see at least one potential-tournament, high-major on the schedule - especially given our difficulties scheduling those in-state high-majors.

I will be curious to see what the attendance is for the games at the Fiserv. I will probably go but having to pay 50 for a game that should be included in my season tickets at the Mecca is kinda weak.

Falling on a Sunday is neat for myself, as I have 0% interest in the NFL. It should be three solid games at Fiserv. Glad this event was started.

I'm working on getting my friend's company suite for that day. I can watch the hoops and have nfl games on the tv. Best of both.

Oh wow, if it wasn’t for the Cream City Classic moving to UWMPA, we wouldn’t have a single home non-conference game at the UWMPA
