Game on Dec.29 vs IU Indy is at the K Great. The only home game I can attend over Christmas break. Stupid., but at least there is a game I get to attend. Might have to fly in from NorCal to GB dec 11th. That should be a good one.

Wild break down by games in Milwaukee by day. 7 games on Sunday's 1 Monday 2 games on a Thursday 3 on Friday's 3 on Saturday's This will really pump up the student section, grad students and recent grads. Nothin like worrying about class/work (and also having to get home earlier) while you are trying to enjoy the weekend watching Milwaukee Panther basketball. I don't understand. Some things seem seriously improved (our record last 2 seasons). Other things... I just don't know. I will let this team tell its story but yeah I agree this schedule was built by someone with their eye on the next stone.. (and not the fan base or any kind of long-term plan). I hope it works out for Coach BL. I really do. Prove us all wrong... But the way our schedule is built we'll run into a buzzsaw in the 1st Rd if we are lucky enough to get to the Dance with this gelling bunch.

I remember when we almost beat Wisconsin, almost beat Marquette. Be awesome if that were a regular occurrence/opportunity.
Nowadays we couldn't get a 10-1 even if we tell MU and UW they can own Panther Arena if they beat us.... Bummer. Them's the breaks, I guess. Some things just are not as possible as you think they should be.
Esp. when your HC used to coach at Marquette. (if Lundy did reach out and got nowhere??? ...MU must be a bunch of pansies, IMO).

And I know this sounds insane to anyone new-ish to Panther Hoops. I guess you just had to be around the program from 2003-2016. It was a damn fun ride most seasons (esp. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2011, 2014, 2016 (oh yeah, we DID beat UW (and MinnU)!!!! At THEIR places!). And as AD Braun's grand reward- she fired our HC. Go on, you know you want to throw down some flames at or with me... Sorry, everything just feels, "complacent", "stagnant". The next stage is "abandoned" like Tommy Bartlett World. There is still a window until they restrict the Big Dance to P5s (if you don't think that will happen you don't know media markets and contracts). Carpe Diem rtfn in '24-'25.

Well, as talked on here before we struggle with Saturday student sttendance. Also, I don't think anyone is worried about work or class for an afternoon Sunday game. Otherwise I'm not sure how all these Sunday Brewers game take place. Plus, these Packers games. The school on these Sunday must find a way to get group outings from schools for these Sunday games. Or family style deals. Something from a page the Wave do.

If I saw this schedule before the year I would have passed on season tickets It appears that possible direct conflicts with the Packers are Nov. 24 and Dec. 29. The NFL playoff schedule is unknown, but our program simply isn't going to schedule a game at a time that overlaps with a Packers playoff game. I'm not going to flip out over this.

We did not used to and there is no reason that we cannot fill up the seats on Friday, Saturday (and Sunday) nights again. Our University simply no longer cares about men's basketball or making that a "destination thing to do". But we used to (Bruce Pearl REALLY used to get the word out I hear and slightly remember from my student days). And they gave out pizzas and freebies and talked it up all the time on campus- and we were great and it was great. Compare for example, Marquette's support and attitude toward their biggest sports program (MBB), and our uni's support and attitude toward our biggest sports program. The difference could fill Lake Michigan. You have to have people who care running the show. And we have some. But in some of the most crucial areas- we do not have those people. And we might never have those passionate MBB-promoting people again. yay.

I mean it just dawned on me when I put on my long sleeved alumni shirt "Let's Dance" from that season earlier this evening.
