"We need them to be right and we need them to be hungry and we need them to fight and and not have agendas and whatever the team needs. We need those guys. And I told them I have never lost, and I'm not going to lose. I'll find the guys that can do it. "To me, it looked like boys versus men," Lundy said. "I mean, they had grown men. (Zapala and Napper) played right in the middle of the floor. We tried every scheme you can think of, made up some schemes, and they continuously scored and were productive. We were down nine at the half on the glass. "We went into the game saying that we had to be good on the glass. We fought a little harder in the second half but can't continue to play from behind. But it really looked like men against boys." "I think we live in an age where everybody has their own little thing that they think that they want and their people tell them that they need to do and instead of being just hard-playing guys who are all about the team, they listen to all these things or they make them up in their minds," he said. "We need more guys that will do whatever the team needs. Not whatever they need; whatever the team needs. Bart needs to recruit men rather than boys, especially in today's portal era. When he first came to the program before last season, Bart expressed a recruiting strategy of getting players who want to be pros. If that truly is the priority for incoming players, no wonder they have their own agenda. "Me first" rather than "team first." Perhaps Bart needs to rethink this aspect of his recruiting strategy. Last year the biggest question I had for Bart was "what have you learned about non-conference scheduling for this program after it did not go so well the first time around?" This year, I still have that question. However, now I have an even bigger question - "what have you learned about recruiting for this program?" He did not appear to learn anything about scheduling after the first season (he was apologetic for it on this season's schedule-announcement day and critical about it after some games). Let's hope he is learning a lot about recruiting strategy this year, will make the necessary adjustments to apply what he learns, and is not simply resting on his laurels of having "never lost." Recruiting size, toughness on the front line, good point guards and players with a team mentality is what we should expect. This is a big ask for our program, but that is what Bart is getting the big bucks for. Coaches at Longwood, PFW, YSU, etc. seem to have already figured things out and are applying it to their advantage.

My favorite is how he said he's never had a losing season(or loss) and is not going to have one. Paraphrasing.

The Panther veterans of last season and the Panthers that transferred and are playing in their first season in Milwaukee need to figure it out and bury whatever hatchets are destroying our comradery. Watching our opponents (esp. last night) verbally communicate and support each other one can see that the differences between us and a healthy functioning DI team are staggering. www.milwaukeepanthertracks.com/2023/12/longwood-dispatches-milwaukee-with-1-2.htmlPS: shout out to the 3-4 players and managers at the end of the bench supporting and cheering the team- nobody else seems to really take pride in being a Panther supporting Panthers out there. Gotta stick together.

I didn't even say a word to any of the players who went to Goolsby's. Just gave them the look akin to a greatly-disappointed father. What about Bart Lundy? Was he there? Did he make the rounds among fans like last year?

The JUCO mentality of a lot of these guys is apparent in their approach to the game. Get mine, don't care about teammates, play one side of the floor, bad body language when not going well. That's a recruiting issue and something the staff needs to fix.

What we want for our program is a team of WEs, not a team of MEs. Haven't seen that here in a long time.

Longwood has a roster of multi year Longwood rostered plays then added guys in the portal like Zapala, Napper, Christmas, Massie and Tucker. They've built their roster quickly and appropriately for sustained success.

They've built their roster quickly and appropriately for sustained success. Right off the bat, I think of guys like Haggerty, Averkamp, Wolf, etc., foundational guys who were invested in the program. At the moment, we don't have that.

We are missing the role player types of our glory years. The 03-06 era had the stars like the Tuckers, McCants, Boo, Dylan, Adrian, Ronnie but they also had the classic role player guys like Hill, Lettenberger, Mielke, McCoy, Pancratz, Wright, Ford, Frederick etc. Guys that knew who they were and what they could do to help the team. I dont see many currently besides Duffy, Gelo, maybe Learic.

Lundy has a proven track record of success. I'm not willing to give up on him. I will however say this. I hope our players study hard and get their degrees, because I didn't see anyone who would make it to a pro team, even a minor league pro team in a small country.
