Much like last year, there’s not a whole lot to take from the scrimmage. It was like an NBA All Star game… a lot of dunks, very little defense.
Having said that, watching Markeith’s dunks makes it seem like he’s fully recovered from last year’s injury, B.J. Freeman seems to like his taking threes standing on one foot, and I think Pierce Spencer was the only player on the roster who didn’t play.

Duffy has some size. I wonder how he will factor in the rotation.

Pierce said he is aiming for a return sometime in mid to late November. Still recovering from a knee injury he suffered in practice over the summer.

Did Lundy get the postseason drought wrong last night about the Panthers? He said 20 years, then someone yelled out 19. Wasn't it 9 years? 2014.

I think he meant the last time we won a post season game. I was confused as well.

Yeah, I told BJ that Bart's going to give him grief if he continues. He laughed and said he was just having fun. Also joked with him that Vinko's not going to let go the fact he stripped BJ of the ball in the scrimmage. 😆

It was more of a showcase for the student fans, chance to show off for them. Looked like a great crowd too. Langston is going to be a crowd favorite, and he seems to have taken a big shine to Milwaukee. Riek really impressed me too. He's got a lot of good game for a freshman. He could be very dangerous in the next year or two. I felt like we have a bunch of guys too that aren't the biggest in actual size, but they play big in the paint. A lot of high fliers too.

Yes it was a good crowd with many students and other athletes from soccer etc. It is apparent that Browning, Pullian, Jamison are extremely confident and understand what is necessary to win. I didn’t mention Freeman because that would be an understatement. The man exudes confidence. Wilson, Fields, and Duffy looked good. Wilson listed as a guard. He is not a guard. The man can jump. Fields will be solid and good down low, good size. Hopefully Duffy stays low. Good moves on the inside has he. My impression was that Angelo looked very good. He improved his ballhandling and may be more than just a shooter from the corner. Pratt and Franklin will be steady and reliable players now and in the future. Reik is going to be awesome, good size and handle, nice stroke. Hope he sticks around. Of the Milwaukee kids, Davis is ready to play. Murchison is going to be tough especially if he is still growing, got tools to be very good. Saw the two Thomas More recruits and I think the kid from Indian Trails. Looked to be many high schoolers in the stands. Of course this was a show but a good one.

The Marketing and Social Media teams have done a great job on all things Milwaukee Athletics. Shout out to them for a job well done!

The Marketing and Social Media teams have done a great job on all things Milwaukee Athletics. Shout out to them for a job well done! Really? I think there is room to grow. No push for awhile on season tickets/mini plans. No tweets during the event last night. Lack on player profile updates. No countdown clock like other schools do and this board does on the start of the season. Zero push for the homecoming game.

They've done more twitter and instagram videos than ever before. There is always room to grow but compared to prior seasons, they have made better efforts. I've seen videos of women's soccer, volleyball and basketball. There were multiple people taking video and pictures that hit socials from last night's practice.
Maybe I'm just following more accounts than most. Seems to be much improved.

Sounds like it was a blast last night! www.milwaukeepanthertracks.com/2023/10/milwaukee-panthers-black-and-gold.html"What I can say is that our current/preseason KenPom estimated overall season win/loss total of 16-14 is way off (also 1 game in an MTE is TBA). There is almost no way that this caliber a Panther team barely treads water this season.
If I had to place a bet, I would only concede these games as probable losses:
28 Colorado 149 UC Davis 132 Wright St. (away) 197 Northern Kty (away) 182 Cleveland St. (away)
As almost every team does, we will likely lose an unexpected regular season contest or 3 (including the TBA MTE game). That would put us at 23-8. Another 2 wins in the Horizon League tournament. Another 2 wins in the NCAAs to reach the Sweet 16 again and end up 27-9. Dream BIG, no?"
Go Panthers, all the way to the FF in AZ! PS: Is my math wrong here? lol
