The ring aspirations started with the players and even a few coaches on twitter during the summer. That and the golf outing and picnic. I would hope so. In retrospect, would it have been better had they gone through the summer expressing a goal of being .500 this season? Of course not. We want them to think they can be the best, EVERY YEAR. At the very least, every team with returning players coming off a top-half-of a conference season and a post-season invite should think that way. If fan expectations are established by such hype, that is fine. Fans want to believe as well, especially those of us with black and gold glasses on. There is nothing wrong with that. I guess I make it a point not to get hooked by that hype. Again, that's just me.
