We really need to find a point guard. There's no way to conceal or sugarcoat it.

That’s part of it, but I’d argue the 19-8 turnover difference is a bigger part (at least that’s what the live stats are telling me). I got 20 Panthers turnovers. Almost shooting 50%. Cut the turnovers in half. Could be tied. Another part are the starts in each half. Spotting 8 and 6 points in each half was costly.

Here is a ballad I composed
Verse 1: Another season gone, another dream undone The Milwaukee Panthers fought with all their might But in the end, it was not enough to win the fight The final buzzer sounds, and it's time to say goodbye
Chorus: It's the end of the season, and the Panthers must go All the tears and the pain, they've got to let it show They gave it their all, but it wasn't meant to be It's the end of the road, for the Milwaukee Panthers' journey
Verse 2: They battled through the highs, and they fought through the lows They faced their fears, and they overcame their foes The fans were cheering loud, as they played their hearts out But in the end, they fell short, and now there's doubt
Chorus: It's the end of the season, and the Panthers must go All the tears and the pain, they've got to let it show They gave it their all, but it wasn't meant to be It's the end of the road, for the Milwaukee Panthers' journey
Bridge: But they won't give up, they'll come back stronger next year They'll train harder, and they'll overcome their fear They'll rise up from the ashes, like a phoenix in flight They'll take on the challenge, and they'll win the fight
Chorus: It's the end of the season, and the Panthers must go All the tears and the pain, they've got to let it show They gave it their all, but it wasn't meant to be It's the end of the road, for the Milwaukee Panthers' journey
Outro: They'll keep their heads up high, and they'll never give in They'll keep chasing their dreams, and they'll never stop believing They'll be back next season, with a fire in their soul And they'll fight even harder, to achieve their ultimate goal.

I've seen 33 years of Panthers basketball. During that time, we have won 20 or more games 11 times and 22 or more games five times. This was a fantastic turnaround season.

Sad that the season ended, but it was the most fun season since at least 13-14. Hope everyone who is eligible to come back next year comes back and we can make an even better run next year.

This would be my message to the team tonight: let's stay together, work hard and run the Horizon League in '23-24!

Bart on radio postgame:
Got to find a way to have better starts.
We have to soften the opponent a bit on their defense before we try to drive. That is a maturity thing with us.
Against a team that is physical and disciplined like Charlotte our havoc style is sometimes going to hurt us.
We had ups and downs this year but figured it out enough to get some momentum going for the program and the city.
Regarding the three seniors, Mo was a game changer in the second have of the season. (Baker or Ham?) has a torn ligament in his finger, tremendous character, never got mad at me for not playing him much. Mo and Rand will be able to go on and play pro.
Thinking ahead, has this year accelerated the program resurrection? I have expectations. We had success this year, but can we keep it pushing forward? We have some building blocks. I think this group will stick together. This year was very foreign to me because when we won a game early people were surprised because of expectations.
I appreciate the fans. We want to continue having their support. We play in the mud a little bit, which is OK. At it's height, Bruce Pearl had the program playing in the mud. We've watched some of those games. Speaking for our guys, we want to thank the fans. When we played Wright State at the K, we knew we were headed in the right direction.

Definite winnable game, but proud of the season that Bart and the guys put together. Hoping we can keep most they guys for next year and keep grabbing a few transfers as well.

So glad to have been there with you for 24 of your 33, buddy. We've been everywhere from Madison to Marquette, Kansas to Iowa St, Green Bay to Loyola, Valpo to Butler. Did court rushes after court rushes - have we actually participated in every court rush this program has ever done, perhaps? And being there for the NCAA tourney wins in Cleveland in Rnds 1 & 2 in 2005, and the Sweet 16 loss in Chicago to the #1 team in the nation. As well as the most painful NCAA loss in Indy in 2003 in the RCA Dome by *1 stinking point* to a Notre Dame team that MKE outplayed for most of the game and had the last posession, but came up just short. So many car rides we've taken almost halfway across the country... my only regret is not going on more! You're an amazing friend, and definitely one of the Top 5 Panther basketball fans of our time! Can't to see how much winning we do in Year 2, and they places we'll go!

UWM commits 20 turnovers, sees season end in loss to Charlotte in CBI Todd Rosiak Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
UWM's season came to an end Monday night in the CBI, but the future is still bright for the Panthers under coach Bart Lundy.
Hampered by an inability to take care of the basketball, UW-Milwaukee's return to the postseason lasted all of two games.
The 11th-seeded Panthers committed 20 turnovers leading to 25 points while falling prey to slow starts in both halves in falling to third-seeded Charlotte, 76-65, in a College Basketball Invitational quarterfinal game Monday night in Daytona Beach, Florida.
UWM (22-12), which never led, also hit just 4 of 14 three-pointers as its unexpectedly ascendant first season under coach Bart Lundy came to an end.
"It's impossible (to win)," Lundy said while addressing his team's giveaway total. "We had six before the first media timeout of the game, then only four the rest of the first half. Then, we came out and turned it over again to start the second half.
"Part of that number is sustained because we were having to come from behind and speed up possessions. But yeah, you can't turn it over 20 times against a good team."
BJ Freeman, coming off a 43-point outburst against Stetson, was limited to 15 points on 4-for-10 shooting (2 for 4 from three-point range) while also attempting just six free throws.
He also accounted for a game-high six turnovers in 29 minutes.
Markeith Browning II was the only other UWM player to finish in double-digit scoring with 13 points.
Charlotte (20-14) opened the game on an 8-0 run -- leading to a quick timeout by Lundy -- and thanks to 17 points by Brice Williams held a 34-27 halftime lead. UWM managed only a conventional three-point play over the final 5 minutes 44 seconds.
Freeman, meanwhile, managed only five points on 2-for-7 shooting in 12 first-half minutes while the Panthers went just 1 for 1 at the free-throw line.
"I think we were trying to get too much, too soon," Lundy said. "Part of it was the deficit. But they did a good job of getting in the gaps and keeping (Freeman) away from the rim."
After Isaiah Folkes scored six points in the first 46 seconds of the second half to up the 49ers' lead to 40-27, Lundy burned another timeout to regroup.
"We put ourselves in a hole again. Kind of been the story of our losses," Lundy said. "This team kind of goes on emotional highs and lows. When bad things happen, they kind of happen in bunches and when good things happen, they happen in big bunches.
"We've got to kind of mature out of that and be able to make a mistake and then get on to the next play so it doesn't end up being a 10-0 run. That's part of the growth steps that we've got to take.
"But that was a common theme this year."
The Panthers played better from there for a stretch and after a pair of free throws by Freeman with 14:18 remaining had pulled to within 49-42.
But each of Charlotte's next three baskets came from beyond the arc with the last one making it a 60-47 game with 9:53 left and UWM never got the deficit into single digits the rest of the way.
The Panthers lost despite shooting 58.3% in the second half and 47.3% for the game. They allowed the 49ers to shoot 53.1% in the second half and 48.3% for the game.
Charlotte's Williams led all scorers with 25 points and Jack Threadgill added 17.
Also worth noting was the fact Charlotte had a full day's rest after playing its first-round game on Saturday. UWM had less than 24 hours' rest after needing overtime to win Sunday night.
"I think there was a little fatigue factor. They seemed a little fresher than we did," Lundy said. "We finished less than 24 hours ago. Quick turnaround, tough scout -- not to make excuses."
The loss aside, it would be tough to find fault in how well UWM performed over the course of Lundy's first season on the sideline.
The Panthers' 22 wins were their most since the 2005-2006 season; their 14 Horizon League wins tied for the most in program history; their postseason appearance their first in nine years; and their first-round CBI victory their first postseason triumph in 17 years.
And Lundy accomplished it all with 13 new players, including a budding future star in the sophomore Freeman.
"I'm extremely happy and proud of our guys, and to bring in 13 new guys and have them jell together and be a successful team," Lundy said. "I'm really proud to represent the university. They've been great to me and my family.
"The fan base started to really re-energize and come out and support us. The city, the media -- I think there's so many positives. It's hard for me to have perspective right now, but there are so many positives to build on moving in to the future of the program here."

It was a game that got away from the team.
But you know what, if any of you, this day 1 year ago would have thought we were going to have 20+ wins, win a post-season game, and be excited about the building blocks and players this team has...
I'd call most of you liars.
This was a turn around season, and you can really see what proper coaching and the right person can do to help a program turn around.
