In looking at our roster I think if push comes to shove we can be ok at guard even with no additions. I think EJ and JT can get better and handle it without a true PG. Up front we have two really solid looking bigs coming in , Thomas Diew who sort of replaces Bol and Darius Duffy who sort of replaces Vin and Vincent. then have Jalen and Keon. However I do think it is necessary and critical to get a big to replace Ahmad Rand. Someone like Mike Marsh. At this point unless someone either leaves or gets scholarship pulled or said big man is a grad student without a scholarship we are stuck in a place very deficient at the 5. Also forgot to mention Riek and Learic as additional pieces. We have a ton of depth but huge hole at 5 position but also ok if we do not add a socalled true PG

Is that based on anything? Have you seen him in the last year (honest question as I have not).
However based on what he was as senior in high school where I did see him play live, if he's one of our best players next year either that means he made an absolutely monstrous, monumental, almost unthinkable leap during his redshirt year. (which is possible)...or we literally lost 3-4 of our best guys to the portal or something horrific. Because what he was as a senior was more along the lines of a potential JUCO player or fringe low major guy. He looks insane in highlight and mixtapes because of his bounce (and being that these days EVERY player looks sick in their mixtapes)...but otherwise his skill level and floor game needed A TON of work. The thing with Learic is he has really high hips that make it a lot harder for him to move his feet defensively and get low enough when driving to attack effectively in traffic, which combined with his lack of strength lets little defenders who should have zero business guarding him consistently stand him up defensively and force him into tough/awkward mid range looks. Like you can throw a 6' or 6'1 dude like KP on him and that causes him fits since he struggles to get low enough to dip his shoulder past his defender and turn the corner, isn't strong enough to go through a defender, and shorter guys are able to move their feet to keep him in front. The hope is that he continues to develop physically and is able to overcome those weaknesses because he played so much smaller than his listed height. Obviously hes tremendous in transition and when there are open lanes to the rim he will dunk the hell out of the ball, but he really struggles in the halfcourt and outside those situations.
Despite all that, I'm still a huge fan of the transfer and his potential...I just think we might want to pump the brakes and temper the expectations if people legit think he's going to be one of our best players next year. Where are the minutes? He's strictly a 2/3 and will be competing with BJ, KP, JT, and Markeith for those minutes. Now maybe we go small next year more and play a lot of Browning and JT at the 4 or something but still.
Admittedly my take was based on highlight videos and his HS stats and who was recruiting him. I believe he had an offer from Texas A&M , and would likely went High major , but sounds like some issues with grades might have been affecting him. It also seems he has added some size this past year at Ten St Look, we have no choice at this point but to play small next year. As of right now, we are pretty short on bigs and scholarships. So if we are still operating with a rotation of 10 players and running up and down the court, I would bet Learic sees good minutes and will be one of those 10 who plays a lot. BJ, MB, EJ and JT will all get plenty of minutes next year, and there is still room for a couple guard/wing types to see significant minutes. Highlight videos mean nothing for how a player will impact a college team. Everyone puts up stats in the Milwaukee city league. 2. Zach Howell has an “offer” from Texas A&M as well. Most offers you see from many of the players are not real committable offers and are long shot playe or a favor to the player/aau team/ or someone in their camp. 3. We are not short scholarships. Whether you want to ignore what happens behind the curtains is your call. But lundy will not miss out on a player due to lack of scholarships. Players will be pushed out or will leave on their own.

Lundy forcing players to leave to open a scholarship is a double edged sword. On one hand he needs to persuade the best players to stay and be loyal, committed, etc, and on the other he would at the same time ask others to leave. I suppose it may be necessary but hopefully he can do it in a way without undermining himself.

I think Howell was Tech and not A&M , which is a big difference IMO. Still, your point is well taken. Zach likely won’t be on scholarship anytime soon. Learic also had a lot of interest from great programs. “Everyone puts up stats in the Milwaukee city league”. Although, the last Bradley Tech player we had on the team didn’t put up as good of numbers as Learic, or have as much succes. Ant came in unpolished and “skinny”. He turned into a beast and one of the best Panthers of all time IMO. I think Learic has the same potential if not more so. I would also disagree that we aren’t short on scholarships, and that we have players on scholarship who won’t contribute that we can just “push out”. The freshmen we have incoming seem like the types who will need time to develop IMO , and we will need contributions next year from the majority, if not all, of the scholarship players currently on the roster. I guess maybe Stuart is replaceable , but I can’t see a scenario where Lundy forces him or another of his players out who came here to play for him.

Sadly for old guys like me, scholarships are now issued on a year-to-year basis. The whole landscape has changed. I can't imagine anything is promised to anyone beyond Year 1. After all, the player can pick up and leave at any time and for any reason. It's a two-way street.

To put it another way, roster churn is inevitable. The hope is that all or most of the change occurs from the bottom of the rotation rather than the top. In short, we clearly want at least these six players back: B.J., E.J., K.P., J.T., Markeith and Jalen.

Players can pick up and leave just like coaches now. If a guy isn't producing, and you think his scholarship is better used elsewhere, you gotta make the move. Most of these guys will find another spot. There's 363 schools in D-I, however many in D-II, it's not like there's not scholarships out there.

Not sure why I am even replying to the question on my Bol./Diew connection but never even entered my mind until that ....I am thinking he would be a back up five kind of like Moses. Good role player but not maybe good enough to be the actual starting 5 position in the post but a key rotation player. We need someone like Rand that is a level above
