I will forego the +/- this time. Generally in a game like this, the more minutes played the higher the minus.

Not to mention, people have been telling this poster for how many months now...? Sorry This exchange and blunt apology made me laugh out loud. Well we can't play any worse than tonight so.. only one way.

Congratulations to YSU for winning the Horizon League regular-season championship and guaranteed NIT berth. Here's hoping that we get healthier and get it together and take them out in the Horizon League Tournament.

The team is young, and this was a road loss against a tough team at a tough arena.
The problem is, this team has been trending this way, dating back to even before Markeith got hurt. The defense is giving up far too many easy buckets. Oakland scored 50 in a half against us, Youngstown mid-40's both halves, GB set their season high on 3's made. This team is going to win when it plays solid defense and scores as it typically does.
Which brings me to my next point. BJ looks like early-season BJ. He's not hitting at all from outside again. He had a run of games where he shot with guys in his face from deep and nailed it. Now, he can't hit from outside with any consistency. He's in a slump and is going to have to shoot his way out of it.
With Markeith out and BJ slumping, we're going to need a lot of offensive contributions from unexpected sources ALONG with good to great defense.

UWM's conference title hopes take a big hit in blowout loss to Youngstown State Curt Hogg Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
All season long, Youngstown State has had one of the most efficient offenses in the country.
Thursday night, UW-Milwaukee learned that the hard way.
In a battle for outright possession of first place in the Horizon League, the Penguins started hot and carried that scoring pace all the way through for a 87-58 win over the Panthers at the Beeghly Center in Youngstown, Ohio.
Youngstown State entered the night with the 19th-best effective field goal percentage in the nation at 55.2% and was 20th in three-point percentage at 37.7%. The Penguins gave the Panthers a taste of just that.
"I just thought they were a lot more physical than us," Panthers head coach Bart Lundy said. "In the first game against them when we beat them, our offense helped our defense. Tonight, our offense hurt our defense."
Adrian Nelson’s 19 points led the way for Youngstown, which had three players score at least 16 points and never trailed and moved to 13-4 in Horizon League play, one game ahead of Milwaukee.
The Panthers’ hopes of earning at least a share of the conference title are still alive, but took a big hit. The Penguins’ three remaining games are against the bottom three teams in the conference standings while the Panthers have at least one big challenge remaining in Cleveland State.
Despite Milwaukee shooting better from the field (48% to 45.9%), Youngstown State jumped out to a 46-33 lead at the half thanks to seven made threes and only three turnovers to 10 for the Panthers.
Exacerbating Milwaukee’s turnover problem was the fact that most were in live-ball situations, giving Youngstown State ample transition opportunities. The Penguins outscored the Panthers, 20 to 2, in fastbreak points on the night thanks to 17 Milwaukee turnovers.
"Part of it was their pressure, but I thought when we got down, we missed some easy ones, they hit a couple tough shots early and we hit the panic button a little bit," Lundy said. "We weren't moving the ball a whole lot. The turnovers that happened were in the middle of the floor and gave them breakouts."
Elijah Jamison scored 12 points to pace the Panthers as leading scorer BJ Freeman was held to 10 points on 3-for-11 shooting while committing eight turnovers. Similar to what Oakland was able to do to Freeman at times in a Milwaukee overtime win on Saturday, the Penguins frustrated Freeman with different looks and double teams on defense.
"Tonight they collapsed on (Freeman) pretty good," Lundy said. "It was officiated as a very physical game and they were physical defensively on drives. We didn’t adjust to that. They did a nice job and kept a bigger defender on him for the most part."
It didn’t help, either, that the Panthers tied their season low for made three-pointers in a game with three. They shot 3 for 19 overall from deep, the exact same mark they had when they struggled mightily in a 31-point loss at Purdue in November.
Milwaukee was again without Markeith Browning, who suffered an ankle injury last Thursday against Detroit Mercy. Justin Thomas had two teeth knocked out while battling for a rebound but returned to the game and isn't expected to miss any time.

One positive: I can't remember the last time the MJS sent a beat writer (at this point Curt is our late season beat writer) to Ohio for a regular season game.

Was Curt actually on hand for the game or did he just watch it online?

I don't think Hogg or Rosiak have gone to any of the road games this season, including last night.
