What a great 1st question by that Matt guy. LOL. Nice to know that Coach appreciates John, even if Sparky would not ask all of his questions. 😄 My happiness would be beyond measure if we make the Davis game happen. I’m like an hour and a half away, so I’d be dragging myself and all my Cali friends to the game. We can only hope that would turn into a Southwest/West Coast road trip. I’d go along for the ride.

What a great 1st question by that Matt guy. LOl. Interesting the money from the trip to Iowa State bought the Brew City Classic. Yet, they will go to UC Davis next year. Bart had a good answer. People think scheduling is a one-sided issue. They never seem to comprehend that the OTHER TEAM has to want to do it as well. I can only fathom they think the only reason they aren’t dating a supermodel is because they haven’t had the chance to ask. The stat about the home team winning percentage was insane!

I can only fathom they think the only reason they aren’t dating a supermodel is because they haven’t had the chance to ask. The stat about the home team winning percentage was insane! We learned something new from Bart's answer, but I would still like further elaboration. Of course, it is a two sided issue. Negotiations are not easy. My point is there are a lot of similar programs with the same scheduling challenges that the Panthers have. None of them are supermodels. Programs with equal bargaining leverage can and often do agree. Why not us? For example, consider Green Bay's non-conference schedule this season. I am not referring to the obvious buy games at Georgetown, UW-Madison, Stanford and Oregon State or it's MTE games against neutral site opponents. I am referring to the rest of the schedule - home games against UIC and Kansas City, road games at Indiana State, Loyola and St. Thomas. I assume that at least four of these are home and homes (if anyone knows otherwise, please state so). Green Bay did not play any D2, D3 or NAIA programs in the regular season. Isn't that a lot better than hosting MSOE, Cardinal Stritch and North Park? The Panthers also hosted St. Thomas and it's own MTE. However, in my opinion, they need to work on getting a couple more mid-majors at home each year. The most efficient way to do that is promise away games in return. Scheduling opponents from nearby states would be a bonus because of the expense savings and ease for fans of each program to travel. Enough with the D3 and NAIA opponents. Besides, should we fear playing the likes of a UIC or KC on the road every couple of years? My one question that Sparky did not ask was whether Bart Lundy learned anything from last year's scheduling effort to improve upon in the future. My hunch is that lessons were learned and home schedules will be better going forward. I expect non-conference home games to be spaced out better, and with more D1 opponents.

I can only fathom they think the only reason they aren’t dating a supermodel is because they haven’t had the chance to ask. For ghostofdylan this was true. Kathy Ireland waited by the phone for years. Truly scheduling is incredibly hard as a good mid-major. The elite ones, like Butler was in the HL, can always find someone because high-majors know their RPI (now NET) isn't likely to tank. But when you're good-but-not-great, they're still worried you'll be good enough to beat them but not good enough to wreck your conference. I remember talking to one of Valpo's assistants in the spring of 2015. They had a lot of "fruitful conversations" that ultimately led nowhere because the high-major or major team they were trying to schedule didn't think they'd end up in the top 75 in the RPI but Valpo would be plenty good enough to beat them on their home floor or at a neutral site and it would look like a "bad loss" to the selection committee. Of course Valpo *DID* end up with a very strong RPI, but you're almost never adding games to the schedule when you're deep into the season. This is why the Bracket Buster was so important at the beginning. It saved a date for a lot of strong mid-majors to get a strong non-conference matchup late in the season. Personally, were I commissioner of one of these mid-major conferences I'd start a conversation with other commissioners about restarting the Bracket Buster under a new name with a new broadcast partner (I personally like the idea of using YouTube). I know you know all this, but I figured I'd extrapolate for the room.

The OG Bracket Buster was awesome. @siu, Home vs Manhattan, @ Hawaii, Home vs Missouri St. were all fun non conf. games. What a time that was.

Coach said somewhere earlier this year that scheduling was hugely difficult this year because of the things that have been mentioned, but also because no one had an inkling of a clue what kind of team we'd have. 2/3 of the team is either transfer portal, D2 kids jumping to D1 or JC. None of the better players from last years' team remained. Coaches didn't know if we'd be good enough to beat them, or at the bottom of the statistical rankings.
I'm fairly confident that people will have a better idea next year what to expect if they consider putting us on the schedule, and that should help with some of the scheduling issues - the "having to" schedule so many non-D1 teams.

Aside from the radio guys insisting on calling us the "UWM Panthers", another good interview and they did speak well of the excitement this team is.

I never watch this show. I DVR it to watch today. The music channel 6 played during video was too loud when Coach Lundy was speaking. It's great that Coach Lundy was in person for this show. I see only a positive.
I do wonder Lily could name a player on the team.
