For sure I think we all agree he will play vs. Wright St on ESPN. But will he play sooner, or is he taking it day by day.

Every day that passes, the less I give a f*** about the answer to that question. If that kid really has an ankle that is bothering him, I hope he heals up and I feel for the kid knowing how disappointed he must feel. If that's the case, in his head he probably thinks he failed in saving his dad's job. I hope at some point someone lets him know that there's no possible way he could have saved his father's job short of going to the Sweet 16 or further, and if that were the case his dad would be set up at some other school where there are other chuckle f***s just as gullible as the ones who brought his dad here in the first place. If his ankle is hurting a bit but easily played on, or even just fine and he's faking it in order to stop his draft status from tanking, then I couldn't care less about him. He can join his dad and Amanda. Deceitful f***s begone. But we don't know, so it's unfair to him to assume. Only he knows the real answer. |

With or without PBJ it’s still almost unfathomable to me that we don’t win at least 6 of the remaining 9 conference regular season games. Two are against GB and IUPUI. That’s 2 wins. Four more are against teams ranked 245 or worse in Kenpom. (IPFW twice, NKU and UIC.). We also get both CSU and WSU at home.
Unfortunately even a 6-3 record down the stretch is very unlikely to get us to a top 4 bye position in the HLT. And three more losses means the only way we could achieve a winning season would be to sweep 4 in the HLT, win the NCAA play in game, win a second round game and lose in the round of 32. I realize I only needed to say “sweep 4 in the HLT” for everyone here to start laughing.
Why do I care about this? Because it’s already going to be extremely tough to find good candidates. Right now we are a six season long train wreck plunging into the abyss in what has dramatically become one of the worst “mid” major leagues. Even a 1 game over .500 “winning” season would provide a glimmer of hope that might attract some better applicants.

I must say, Fran, that this post makes you an early frontrunner for "Optimist of the Month." It's going to be tough for buppie, CP, Victor E. or anyone else to beat this. From where I sit, we seem pretty much destined to go at best 3-7 over our remaining 10 games. Can anyone here controvert that?!

Right now we are a six season long train wreck plunging into the abyss in what has dramatically become one of the worst “mid” major leagues. Even a 1 game over .500 “winning” season would provide a glimmer of hope that might attract some better applicants. Cleveland state was in the dumps and ended up with a gem still. Milwaukee is still a good Market and are getting a brand new practice facility. We will be able to hire a good candidate. |

If anything, the worse this season's record the easier for the replacement to have an (x) game improvement in the first year or two. That could add to the attractiveness of the job. Is it possible for Fran or anyone else to win "Optimist of the Month" and "Worrywart of the Month" at the same time? |
