As frustrating as it is to watch the Crew's offensive struggles of late, it is at least a positive that they are striking out at a lower rate. They have struck just six times in each of their last two games, and have only two strikeouts in the first four innings tonight.

Today, timely enough hitting. I attended the game (seniors day) even though i knew Burnes was pitching and the Crew can't score runs for him. When the Braves went up 4-0 in the third inning, i was prepared to see the Brewers lose. Then they closed to 4-3 in the middle innings and i thought they might pull it off, although they kept missing opportunities. They tied the score in the ninth, but couldn't score the winning run. I was pessimistic when Atlanta scored in the 10th and 11th innings, but the Crew tied the score on a hit by Yelich and had a decent chance to win in 10 innings. When Atlanta scored on an error in the 11th, i almost left the stadium, but I am glad I stayed to watch Hiura walk it off.

Sounds like you were riding it the entire time you were there!

An apt description.
The Crew never led until Hiura scored the winning run. They had opportunities to score, but could not string together the necessary hits, until late in the game.
Wong's game-tying triple in the ninth and Hiura's homer in the eleventh were both on two strike counts. Wong's hit was a two-out hit. Neither Wong nor Hiura had had hits in the game up to those points.
You know both of them are capable of clutch offense. They hadn't managed to perform at that level until the very end of the game, but they did today.
The Crew's record is 24-14. They have a day off and a sub .500 team in the Nationals coming in for the weekend.

Virtual day off today. Back at it tomorrow. I just hope Freddy's OK. Get ready for a tough start to the upcoming road trip. In addition to the down vibe from the Peralta setback, Mrs. Cactus and I are headed to San Diego to see a couple of games there. The Brewers rarely do well on our Brewers road trips. They once lost 17 road games in a row that we went to, and that spanned over a period of mostly winning seasons!

Wonder of wonders, the Crew can score runs for Corbin Burnes.
Burnes gave up a run in the bottom of the first on a double-play. Mike Brosseau tied the score with a home run, and Tyrone Taylor hit a three-run homer in the sixth to make the score 4-1 in favor of the Crew. With Josh Hader not with the team for a family matter, the Brewers sent out Hobey Milner in the seventh, Trevor Gott in the eighth, and Devin Williams out to finish the game. Milner and Gott each escaped with no runs scored in their innings, and Williams got the save.

Too bad Gott and Williams did not pitch in reverse order so we could say "Gott got the save."
It's a beautiful day in San Diego and I'm looking forward to see what Ashby & Co. can do in the series finale.

It's a beautiful day in San Diego and I'm looking forward to see what Ashby & Co. can do in the series finale. Ashby pitched well enough that he should have got the win, but the Brewers managed to take the lead only after Ashby was out of the game. The bullpen did its job, and the Crew took the series from the Padres. Today's final score was 2-1, and the Crew won without hitting a homer. Rowdy Tellez tied the score with a run-scoring double, and Tyrone Taylor drove the second run with a sac fly to the warning track in left. Angel Perdomo was credited with the win, Brad Boxberger got a hold for pitching a scoreless eighth inning, and Devin Williams got the save.
