This is great news. It means Levering will be the primary TV play by play announcer. I became a big Levering fan after hearing him do some home games on TV over the past couple of seasons. I like LePay, but prefer Levering. Based on the announcement, this also means no more Coshun on play by play, which is another good thing. It will be interesting to see who is added to the radio booth.

Corbin Burnes becomes the first Brewers pitcher since 1982 to win the Cy Young Award. The other Brewers pitchers to win the award was Rollie Fingers in 1981 and Pete Vuckovich in 1982. Congrats to Corbin!

The Hunter Renfroe acquisition while at the same time dumping Jackie Bradley,Jr's relatively huge contract is an outstanding development for the Brewers.

Anyone else believe we are in for a loooooooong labor dispute? My plan to return to American Family Fields of Phoenix next February and March is very, very tentative.
And how strange what has been done to the MLB and team websites. They cannot even reference a current player. Stories prior to today have been wiped off the sites. Bizzare!

Nice article on JS today from Tom Hardricourt reporting the Brewers are experiencing brisk season ticket sales. I'm somewhat surprised. Since the lockout, MLB seems as irrelevant as ever. Apparently, with the lack of any labor news, ticket buyers are ignoring the potential disruption of at least the early part of the season. I suspect after the Super Bowl, when it is unlikely pitchers and catchers will report on schedule, we will start hearing a lot more about the dispute. That will be when talk about it ramps up and fans' frustration/anger will be expressed.

Tom Hardricourt is retiring. Dang. He is among the best at what he does.

Bob Nightengale writes "Now that the labor war is over, buckle up for a frantic, crazy, chaotic and turbulent month before Opening Day. There are still about 200 unsigned free agents needing jobs, teams still needing to fill out rosters, salary-arbitration cases, and teams wanting to make trades."
What will become of the JS coverage of the Panthers coaching situation now that Todd Rosiak will be extremely busy down here in Phoenix??? Especially with Tom Hardricourt gone.

So much for being able to watch four straight days of March Madness next weekend.

Playoff format has been announced. Worst division winner plays WC 3 in 3-6, top 2 wcs play in 4-5, both are best of 3 series. Top 2 seeds get byes. 4-5 winner plays the 1 seed. 3-6 winner plays the 2. under this format the Brewers would have had a bye last year, same with the Giants. Atlanta would have played the Reds in a 3 game series, while the cards and Dodgers would have played in the other series. there are no longer tiebreaker games. had this been in place in 2018, the Brewers would have been the 4 seed, and the Cubs the 1 seed. in 2017 the brewers would have been the 3rd and final WC, playing the 3 seed Cubs in a best of 3. i would rather have kept the game 163 along with the new best of 3, it combines the 'settle ties on the field' history, while ensuring the winner gets at least 2 playoff games under their belt.
