The Panthers scored four goals in a little over 10 minutes late in the second half to to turn a close match with UIC Into a rout.
What is just as good for Milwaukee is that Youngstown State scored an early goal against Northern Kentucky and made it stand up to give the Norse their first league loss. Now the best that NKU can hope for when the teams meet at Engleman stadium is a tie with the Panthers at the top of the league standings.

Milwaukee has allowed 2 goals combined in its 7 Horizon League games. The team has scored at least 2 goals in every one of those games. Scored 7 in a game twice and 5 yesterday. GOOD GOD The five goals put the Panthers at #1 in D1 Women's Soccer, one ahead of South Alabama, who has played one more match thus far this season. The Panthers have maintained their lead in Goals/Game, having scored four more goals than #2 BYU in one more match. Milwaukee is also tops in Goals-Against Average. Gabby Schwartz is tops in D1 in total assists (16) and assists per game (1.23)

The Panthers played Detroit this afternoon in soccer, coming away with a 3-2 victory, as the Titans twice tied the score. After an early goal (3:23) by the Panthers' Mackenzie Schill, Detroit tied the score in the 25th minute. The Panthers retook the lead just short of two minutes later on a penalty kick by Gaby Schwarts. The Titans tied the score again just after halftime. Schill got the game-winner in the 61st minute, and the Panthers made that stand up.
Of interest to the Panthers was the match tonight in Kentucky. #2 Oakland traveled to play #3 Northern Kentucky and scored two goals in a little more than a minute to take a 2-0 lead at halftime, then extended the lead to 3-0 early in the second half. The win puts the Grizzlies just two points back of Milwaukee ahead of Milwaukee's home match with NKU on Sunday, followed by the Panthers road match with Oakland on the following Saturday.

The Panthers again got an early goal and made it stick, this time against Northern Kentucky for a 1-0 win. The Panthers remain undefeated, heading into a showdown next Saturday on the road at Oakland, who is just behind Milwaukee at 8-0-1. A win or a draw would all but clinch another regular season title for the Panthers.
Per mkepanthers.com, the Panthers as of last Thursday, were at or near the top of D1 Women's Soccer in the following categories: >First in the NCAA in: -Scoring Offense (3.9 gpg) -Total Goals (51) -Total Assists (67) -Total Points (169) -Assists Per Game (5.2 apg) -Points Per Game (13.0 ppg) -Shots on Goal Per Game (12.2 SOGPG) -Goals-Against Average (0.29) -Shutout Percentage (.769) >Other high ranks include: -Shots Per Game (22.6/3rd) -Save Percentage (.895/2nd) -Win-Loss % (.923/3rd)

Oof, NKU looked like the team Milwaukee needed to beat until that YSU loss (Milwaukee beat YSU 7-0)...now the Norse have 3 straight HL losses after being unbeaten since the start of last year
