The same pedigree that gave UWM it's glory years. Unfortunately, they went away from that the last three coaching hires. Maybe next time. IDK man, I think it at this point we have enough information to conclude that Ryan and Pearl were good because they're elite coaches and not because they coached at lower divisions. Mike Dunlap added A TON to his resume between when he was a finalist for us and when he got a D-I HC job, and he posted 1 winning season in 6 years before getting canned. I think chances for success are much greater for a proven winner as head coach at any level versus a B10 assistant coach who needs to learn OTJ. If we look at the last five hires at UWM, this has been shown. Of course, it is not an absolute slam dunk. You could add the likes of Whitsell and maybe Darner to support your comment. Any potential new hire should be vetted to include his ability to motivate coaches and players, and sell the program to fans.

WISN reported it also. Not surprised.

Why now? Considering their line of terrible decisions with him, they should have re-extended him and THEN fired him.

WOW! Most MU guys were pretty convinced they couldn't afford to do it!

Marquette is hemorrhaging students. The hoops program is vital for them to be attractive in a crowded field of Midwest Catholic Universities. Iโm surprised it took them this long. That said the faculty will be steamed at what MU will spend to buy WOJO out and hire a new coach given all the layoffs.
I expect them to go hard after Porter Moser.
