When: Friday & Saturday Time: 6PM & 2PM Where: Nutter Center

POSTSEASON SEED UPDATE With the unbalanced schedule this season, the Horizon League will update the seeding of the 12 teams each week. The adjustments are based on the League Adjusted RPI, which is similar to the RPI formula used by the NCAA, adjusted to better represent the four conference priorities (league winning %/strength of schedule/weighting road wins more than home wins/number of games played vs. scheduled). As of Feb 7.
1. Cleveland State 2. Wright State 3. Oakland 4. Northern Kentucky 5. Youngstown State 6. Detroit Mercy 7. Green Bay 8. Milwaukee 9. Purdue Fort Wayne 10. UIC 11. IUPUI 12. Robert Morris

So we would be the last team hosting a first round game. Frankly we need to win this series if we want a shot at a bye

Why isn't Grant Basile wearing the Black & Gold?!

Agree that Grant Basile would make this team better. We seem to miss out on Wisconsin post players far too often. What this team would be like with Nze and Basile. But you gotta give a good reason for playing here. Only one answer. Win some games against Horizon League teams and move up the ladder rather than staying stuck in the middle. Is it the League, Coaches, Recruiting, AD, Players? All of the above. I like our Freshman a lot. Need to keep them and add some quality. Otherwise.....same old story.

That’s the tricky part. We have some nice young talent and Jasin Sinani (incoming recruit from Oak Creek) looks to be like a great pickup for us. But we can all agree that PB has underwhelmed as a head coach in a league that is up for grabs. Lose a coach and you likely lose his players. What do we do when you’re in year 4 and haven’t met the specific standards put forth by the AD?
Personally, I say we roll with what we have and not spend the next 3 years rebuilding again. Let’s get a split with WSU and finish the regular season on a positive heading into the tournament. Home court advantage shouldn’t make a difference at this point with no fans. Just play together alas a team and good things will happen.
And get JT some minutes!

I was listening to Fran Frascilla just the other day describe how Cade Cunningham will actually be a lot better at the next level because the players around him will be so much better. Guys, Jordy Johnson -- as good as he was -- didn't average 8.5 assists on his own. He had a very good group of players around him. The talent here has frankly been lacking for the last five years. We just flatly need to recruit better. The state. The region. Everywhere. PBS must go.

I'll add that I'm unsure if the biggest issue is procurement, development or retention, but it seems like we're caught in a vicious cycle where players show flashes, regress and then finish unceremoniously or wash out of the program. Maybe it's a combination of all of the above.

WSU is ranked 9th in the current Mid Major poll...going to be tough but it is always tough at the Nutter. Let's hope we can stay close and maybe steal a game from them tomorrow and go from there.

We won't win a game this weekend. Don't kid yourselves.
I would go so far as to say we won't win again this season, but there's always a chance Kampe trips over himself.
How Horizon League is it that Green Bay is somehow seeded above us when we cleaned their clock. No surprise there. I'm sure we'll fall further. PBS can't end a regular season without being on a losing streak.

This might belong on another thread as we all seem to share frustration. If we beat Wright St. we will need to shoot the lights out. They are too strong inside. We have done it so there is a chance for a split. This leads me to another reason we lose close games. The Horizon League has become a Ohio, Michigan, Indiana Conference. No wonder Loyola moved to the Missouri Valley. I want out but that puts our administration at task. Hell let’s encourage UW Parkside to go DI. Start a Midwest Conference. I think part of Marquette’s problem is they don’t fit into The Big East. A quandary everywhere.

Rutgers in the same conference as Nebraska? For what? $ ? You make student athletes spend 4 hours each way in a plane for 1 basketball game? How is that fair to them? How wasteful can we possibly be ? Don’t even get me started on that. We could have a great basketball conference just Wisconsin and Illinois. But yeah, perhaps for another thread.
