Once again, the Panthers are picked to finish at the top of the Horizon League standings in Women's Soccer. IUPUI and UIC were a close second and third, respectively. Purdue Fort Wayne was picked to finish ninth and Robert Morris was picked to finish 11th, ahead of Detroit.
The Colonials' introduction to league play was to host Milwaukee. The Panthers poured in four goals in just a bit more than twelve minutes in the first half. Welcome to the Horizon League, RMU.

Tomorrow's HL Women's Soccer Tournament final will be at noon CDT, and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
For the first time in a few years, the tournament finals were not in Milwaukee. The Panthers finished 7-1-0 in league play, which put them in the second seed. Northern Kentucky finished 7-0-1 and got the top seed, and hosting rights for the tournament finsl
There were four teams only in the tournament. Milwaukee beat IUPUI and NKU beat UIC in the semifinal games, setting up a Milwaukee vs. NKU matchup in the finals. The regular season match between the two was cancelled due to weather and travel concerns.
I really found it difficult to even remember that Women's soccer and VOlleyball were playing matches this spring, since they're normally fall sports.

The final and the tournament championship came down to penalty kicks. I was not optimistic, as I can't remember the last time the team won on penalty kicks.
Both goaltenders, who finished at the top of the league in the regular season, having shut their opponents out through 110 minutes of game time, including two overtime periods, had to face the best opposition offensive players one on one. In the initial round of five kicks, Milwaukee's goalie stopped two shots to only one save by NKU's goalie, to claim the tournament title and an NCAA tournament bid on penalty kicks, 4-3.
Per mkepanthers.com, the NCAA tournament selections will tomorrow at noon at the ncaa.com website.
