Really worried that Urias is a complete head case, guys. Anyone else besides CP remember Steve Sax? Yikes!!!

Our pitching is fantastic. There's nothing negative to say about it so far.

Our pitching is fantastic. There's nothing negative to say about it so far. Woodruff struck out seven, and gave up one run, to win his first game of the season. The Padres pitcher, Musgrove, struck out 13 Brewers, but gave up three solo home runs, and so wound up losing. (Earlier this season he threw a no-hitter for the Padres against Texas.) Woodruff is the number one starter, but the number two starter, Burnes, is off to a better start to the season. As in historic: if he can strike out six or more batters tonight before giving up a walk, he'll set a record for a starter at the beginning of the season for strikeouts without/before giving up a walk. Adam Wainright set the record at the start of 2013 with 35 strikeouts before walking a batter.

I love your post, 'Heap, except for the part where you characterize Big Woo as our ace. I'm not sure about that.

Our pitching is fantastic. There's nothing negative to say about it so far. I'd say the starting pitching, closer and one set-up man, Feyereisen, have been fantastic. The rest of the bullpen has been hit and miss. Hopefully a couple of bullpen guys on the current roster and/or ATS start showing some consistency. Also, let's hope the injury bug does not cross over from the everyday position players to the starting pitching staff. There doesn't appear to be much depth there right now, though someone in the ATS could hopefully emerge as well.

Oh, BTW, Burnes struck out 10 in six innings of shutout ball tonight, with (again) no walks. That means he's set the record for starters with 40 Ks and no walks to begin the season. He'll look to extend the record next time out. The record for all pitchers is 51 set by Kenley Jansen of the Dodgers in 2017. Burnes's ERA is 0.37. The Brewers are up 5-0. www.mlb.com/news/corbin-burnes-sets-mlb-record-for-starters

Cincinnati's game with Arizona tonight was suspended in the eighth inning with the D-backs leading 5-4. They'll pick the game up on Wednesday.
I have seen games declared final after seven innings this season. What's up with that?

I have seen games declared final after seven innings this season. What's up with that? Well they kept the " doubleheaders are 7 innings " setup from last year. . Not sure about other scenarios

That's the other fun thing: the absences of Yelich, Cain and Wong, and Hiura's awful start hitting, have not prevented the Crew from winning games.

if the Crew ever start hitting with regularity, look out.

LOL!!!
