After watching “The Scrimmage” I think the starting five is pretty much set. Can’t keep Dre Gholston out of lineup. Looks like Lucas, Wilborn, Brown, Thomas make up the rest. Simply thought they were best players on the floor. The freshmen looked good at times. Newby and Taylor will see playing time. Coleman looks like the real deal with a nice looking long range shot. Hanc*** appeared a little nervous but certainly showed enough to warrant playing time. Biggest disappointment was Baker. He had a nice block but missed shots repeatedly. Looks like a player who could score in streaks but with his length needs to get out on break or develop some post moves to the basket not away from the basket. Allen is a rebounder as is St Pierre creating a little havoc defending the basket. He seemed very comfortable out there. Couple players didn’t play. Finally when Lucas turns it on he is fun to watch. Can score in so many ways. He rebounds, dishes, and seems to score at will. Great burst to basket. Any other thoughts out there?

Interesting. I wish I could have seen it. Was planning on writing a small bit on the upcoming season for this Panthers team. It looked like the team (like many other teams during the pandemic) was going to Livestream it but then the YouTube link was removed.
Did Simms play? Did Lathon get denied a waiver or still pending?
Well, the season starts soon enough. That's where the mettle gets tested.

I couldn't find it- the link I had said it was removed. Maybe I need to find a Milwaukee VPN location. Or get on the secret MBB link mailing list lol jk I probably just wasn't searching for it right. I'm technical but severely lacking in common sense at times.

You guys know I watched it. And let’s get right to the nitty gritty!!!!!!!Vin Baker jr like I said before HE SUCKS!!!!!!! Period point black!!!! A waist of scholarship in my opinion! Sims didn’t play and the other hasn’t cleared yet. Amir looked better but not saying a lot but the guy they call tank ain’t bad! Slow but a big body and the guy named grant can really shoot the rest of the game is what I expected. We have to find away to lite a fire in these guys a**es they have a chance to win if they go rebound as a unit! The starting lineup is set in my opinion and we create some excitement if we run the floor. The freshman have to stay composed as possible but the coaching has to be careful not destroy their confidence which is key. But I wasn’t knockoff my feet with the scrimmage. But one key thing is for the most part guys get along this year which is a great thing compared to last year.

Baker Jr. sucks? I would first try to consider Urban Meyer's thoughts on making quick judgement of players and coaches. Maybe look deeper and you can find the way for him to reach his true potential.
Or maybe he just isn't going to be great at this level. But fortunately for him, he will be the one to determine that. I hope chemistry is good. Without fans, it is the one intangible that can really boost a borderline team.

Thanks gotcha. Must have just been up temporarily and I missed the window.
I don't know about our depth, but if the starting 5 mentioned can go 30+ minutes we should be alright this season. Definately will fare better than these hilarious "predictions".
The Horizon League parity is unfortunately to the level of almost no separation. I'm not convinced Wright State and Loudan Love are as good as people are making them out to be. Last season they had other tools. We'll see.

We will wait and see if Baker jr get better the first thing he has to accept is he’s coming off the bench and play his role to help the team and don’t worry about Dre in the starting spot! He can shoot but won’t play defense on a consistent basis. Now don’t get me wrong he’s a great kid but I don’t think he really want it maybe the dawg isn’t in him? I think he plays cause of his name not for the love and I could be wrong time will tell.

Always appreciate the insight, Tony. More importantly... how’s JT looking this year? Looking forward to a big senior year from him! Hopefully we’ll have the chance to see a few games in person come Jan 1st. Unfortunately that seems pretty unlikely at this point.

Id' like to keep this mostly to just Horizon folks but trying to spread the word. Just another (Geo) UI for VerbalCommits.com: lugares.azurewebsites.net(if anyone had trouble opening roster or recruit links in the location modals previously- I resolved that .js bug)

Hopefully we’ll have the chance to see a few games in person come Jan 1st. Unfortunately that seems pretty unlikely at this point. JT tells me he working real hard in the gym three times a day starting at 5:30 am. As of Saturday it looks like he fixed that shot the hitch is gone which is good his conditioning is better. I had a real man to man conversation with him about going out there doing your best and not thinking so much just react and play. It was really hard for to adjust to losing because he never had a losing season ever. And last year team didn’t care about losing as soon as the game was over it was party time and he couldn’t deal with that at all. But it really sucks that we can’t attend the games until hopefully January but I will attend the games in indiana because there are open for fans to attend so hopefully I will see you there brother.

I thought Thomas looked good and stronger, playing at a good pace. JT and Lucas beat defenders down the floor consistently. They did so despite logging many minutes late in the scrimmage. Hope that rubs off on trio of freshmen recruits. Lucas and Thomas will carry this team on their backs. Wish them luck and good health.

Also, anyone know status of two T’s, Tyler and Tafari. Think they were on sideline with Lathon who was apparently coaching. Looking like he may have to sit out due to second transfer rule. Not sure about that
