Wait a second. Rothstein reported that he wasn't coming here.

Interesting trying to understand the dislike of Scott. Third team all conference. Got some points and rebounds. He is a one year player who would seem a good fit at Horizon level. Brings in more points and rebounds than is transferring out. He is a Midwest player probably familiar with Josh Thomas. These transfers are what they are. Most are not NBA players. Fit is most important. If coaches see an athlete who will fit in and give some quality minutes I say go for it. We need some bodies next year. I have been terribly wrong in the past so maybe patience is in order.

Yes I do know him quite well and he played at Simeon with josh and on Meanstreets! Unless he’s changed he was a crybaby with no toughness at all but ppl change and the deal was 80% done! But will see what happens!!! We need to find a big man from Africa somewhere that can help us. Ready to go to war this season!!!!!!

Thanks. Players do change with maturity. Sounds like you understand what gives a player and team that competitive edge. Talent alone doesn’t always create winners. That is one reason I am not as concerned about losing players who only seemed to contribute on occasion. Rare occasions. . For example a player comes off the bench and blocks two shots gets 4 rebounds takes a charge and hits a couple free throws, that is contribution and understanding team play. Hopefully these are the players PB is recruiting. From watching tape of Scott, which in no way lets one get a real feel, he does look like a better fit than the players we lost to the portal. It is a crap shoot. Hope he has matured and gives a team a 100%.

Some have already shown that they jump from program to program but the bigger issue is why is he bringing in guys that aren't contributing. If you won 25 games last year and were losing a few guys off the end of your bench no one would be questioning guys that want more playing time somewhere else. You guys didn't have a good team last year and these guys didn't really contribute anything. 2. If your coach made a good assessment in recruiting these guys in the first place, why haven't they developed as players in their time at Milwaukee. Successful mid major coaches either recruit at a higher level than their peers or they do a much better job developing their players. I said this several pages back, if you look at all the good mid-major programs that have gone onto making a run in the NCAAs, the vast majority of those teams have a nucleus of 4th and 5th year players in that program. If you are turning over 1/2 your roster every year or 2 you cannot build that foundation. You cannot develop guys that aren't there. Thank you, Big D!

I'm not going to pretend to know him in any sense. He averaged 12/5 for a better team in a comparable conference. Compare his numbers to our team last year, he would've been the 3rd highest scorer & 2nd best rebounder. For a one year player, I'm fine with it.

I just think Fred Scott is not the answer if you wanna get someone try getting Brandon Johnson from Western Michigan he’s available and can help us and is 100% better than Scott. But Johnson is looking for high major schools that’s not going to play him we have to convince players that big schools mean nothing if you just going to sit on the bench for them com play for us this is what must be done. Paris Parham is the key to this!!! He has the Midwest on lock but has to have help with the Administration however we can. We know people are still getting paid PERIOD!!!!!! But I know for a fact just last week other teams flew down{or drove} to see certain players and I mean average players to get them to come to that University. Not telling them to do dirty things but we are losing battle if we can’t complete on a recruiting level something has to give. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I mean, if we're going for pipedreams I'd say it starts and ends with PBJ. Get him to convince Foster to join him, then some JUCOs and 4-star multi-year guys
In the meantime, a guy like Scott is great! I'll expand on what 'holic said: Scott would've been by far our best post player this year. Hard to see a situation where his numbers don't improve here, as Rider's best player was his frontcourt mate.

I really like Johnson when we played them this year, and he could be a good fit. My suggestion is finding people with some grit and hustle!! We need physical bigs and really physical players in general that don't play timid. We need them to be aggressive. Get back to being a program that plays hard nose defense and runs the break. I also like the comment by someone who said find someone from Africa... look at the kid from Utah State NEEMIAS QUETA from Portugal... they took a flyer on him and he's been a solid athletic big man for that team. Probably will have him for all 4 years too. As for the program we need to pump some money into it, that's the only way to turn it around. Ever since the AD has taken over (as we all know the program has gone down hill) we have been losing a ton of money. Get Alex Antetokounmpo here to sell tickets/have a kid with some real potential and buzz around him on the team THEN make a run at PBJ/FOSTER!!! We can't try to be a big name program before we even start winning games. We are currently a sh*tty mid-major that could become something better with just a few good years!

Queta reportedly had offers from Texas Tech and Creighton in addition to USU. Like Johnson, would've never been a realistic target.

It seems like we intend to stock up on "quick-fix" players. Only JUCOs and grad transfers need apply.
