Hey g-o-d, you often track this stuff. Was Milwaukee literally the first D1 team to be eliminated this year? Did our season end before anyone else's? Looks like somewhere between 23rd and 33rd, depending on when today's games ended.

When I earlier looked at a list of league tournaments, it appeared as if we could be among the first 10-12 teams eliminated. The class that we now keep is High Point, Holy Cross, Jacksonville, Loyola (Maryland), Presbyterian, NJIT, IUPUI and of course Detroit. You are to a large degree a reflection of the company that you keep.

Are you talking NCAAT? Merrimack can't make that or the NIT (and their regular season ended last week), though I suspect a team that just paid for a D-I transition will be willing to enter the CBI/CIT

Our record against Division 1 programs from 1995-99 under Ric Cobb was 25-80. Our record against D-1 programs since 2016 is 43-81. We're not all that far away, fellas.

"It's a tough pill to swallow when it's your last game and the end of the season," Baldwin said. "We certainly wanted a better outcome for our guys that have been working extremely hard from the start of summer to this point. I wish I could come up with a remedy that would change this, but we have to deal with it the way it is. I love our guys – they gave a tremendous fight here tonight."
"We led for a long stretch and then let them get back into the game," Baldwin said. "That momentum swing hurt us and then we couldn't score - we had open looks and just didn't knock down some of the shots that were open and some plays at the rim that we didn't make. Our guys really fought and gave everything they had tonight."

"Fight, fight, fight! I love my guys. They never gave up. The other guys just made more shots than we did. Yada, yada, yada!"

"...I wish I could come up with a remedy that would change this, but we have to deal with it the way it is ... " Baldwin said. Wouldn't that be your job to "come up with a remedy" instead of having to "deal with it the way it is", Mr. Baldwin?

I'm fine with his statement about his players. I just wish there was more to it. Zero self blame for himself and the staff.

"Fight, fight, fight! I love my guys. They never gave up. The other guys just made more shots than we did. Yada, yada, yada!" Reminds me of one of my dad's favorite anecdotes. He likes to tell of a Missouri high school coach who had a similar take on his teams' losses. "We outplayed them," he'd say. "They just outscored us."

i'm reminded of a summary of the 1958 Packers- they overwhelmed 1 team, underwhelmed 10 teams and whelmed 1.

I'm fine with his statement about his players. I just wish there was more to it. Zero self blame for himself and the staff. It was the players, and only the players, that got this team to the 12 wins they got. Were it not for his "coaching," they might have 17 or 18 easy. He also could have easily lost the UMKC, IUPUI, and UIC home games with a few more seconds time to blow it, giving us back to back 22 loss seasons. Some guys just don't have it, and he's one of them.
