I think the time has come to throw all the names in a hat, Shae, Amir and Bobby included, and blind-draw Thursday's lineup. It can't be any worse than this! Sometimes that can jumpstart things when you're starting from scratch. Let's give it a shot!!!

I'm guessing Amir Allen wasn't really available today, though he was dressed. I thought Bobby was in street clothes this weekend, and I think there's some kind of injury going on (perhaps going for a medical redshirt?) I was surprised to not see Shae out there today, at least in the 2nd half, as we needed somebody who could make a basket to make the game close again. Today's game was bad, but upon further reflection (and with a little time passing since today's game), I don't know that I'd say that the team is for sure regressing as much as it seems in this thread. I am concerned that Pat Baldwin's teams do tend to regress as the season goes on, but they lost by 4 to the top team in the conference and they lost badly today to the 2nd best team in the conference, albeit both at home. No team on our regular season schedule should be as tough as the two we faced this weekend. Is it possible the team really could collapse the rest of the year? Of course, but I think it's way too early to say that this season is a disaster at this point. 3 game losing streaks are no fun, but I still think they will start making baskets again in the coming games and be competitive in the conference. As badly as this weekend went, I think the Panthers are still only 1 game out of 3rd, with (currently) a tie breaker against all of the teams currently in 3rd (Youngstown State, Green Bay, and UIC).
Today was definitely deflating, though.

We'll get more rebounds and better free throw shooting at a minimum.😁

The beauty of the blind draw is that you only have to go with the initial lineup intact until the first stoppage, but if anyone actually produces, you can ride him until he plays his way out ... and then go on to the next one. It's fun for the players and it breaks this monotony and bad mojo!

No lineup gimmicks should be necessary to win 6 of the next 7. For pity's sake, EVERY ONE of these opponents would be a "buy game" for any self-respecting high major. Since we play them twice a season, that means we have 14 "buy game" opponents in conference.
Serious question: in year FOUR of the so-called "rebuilding" (from a 20 win team that was returning FIVE high major players, but I digress) is it really too much to expect that we could win just 11 out of those 14 games, in the absolute worst Horizon League in history?
Because if we don't, it's just further proof not only that the AD has literally wasted four entire years of the program, but that we are nowhere NEAR turning a corner, and that this disaster is STILL unfolding.
And by the way -- eyewitness reports tell me that there were nowhere NEAR 500 fans at the game on Sunday!
11-7 or bust.

I'd be surprised by 7-11, and possibly ecstatic with 9-9. They'd only need to reverse the 5-4 of the first half to do it, but there's 2 buzzer beaters in that 5-4. 3-6 is far more likely, and I'll say 2-7 is the most likely result. But, I will admit I did only predict 12 wins this season, so it's a self-serving prediction.

Year two with the program. Is he really not ready to play?

I think we should finish in the top 100 of the NET and top 3 in the Horizon League!

I think we should finish in the top 100 of the NET and top 3 in the Horizon League! Jimmy, that's going to be tough to do. We've only been in the Top 100 of the RPI/NET ratings 5 times in our HISTORY!

Jimmy, that's going to be tough to do. We've only been in the Top 100 of the RPI/NET ratings 5 times in our HISTORY! But we have to remember that "mediocre is not our standard"! Absolutely true: after four years since the program's deconstruction, mediocrity is now our wildest dream! IF we go 6-1 down the stretch, we will have secured a winning season at no worse than...16-15! Oh, the celebrations that will ensue! I can envision the bonfire surrounded by threes of students in Speights Plaza madly chanting "We're mediocre! We're mediocre!" Fun fact for the day: we have already lost six games this year to teams ranked 200 or worse in kenpom's rankings. That record of futility ties both the 2017 and 2018 seasons, but trails 2019's astonishing nine such losses. Of course, we still have at least 7 more chances this year. Prior to the AD's bold and well thought out decision to set "new standards" for the program, we had never since the dawn of the century lost more than four. And that happened only once -- in the Klotsche year. Conversely, since the AD threw men's BB program in the trash in March 2016, we have exactly ONE victory over a top 100 team. Both of that opposing team's starting guards were injured and did not play.
