C’mon SoB — just wait until he gets his own players.

And in-game adjustments? Forget it! You have a better chance of buying oceanfront property next door to Cactus Panther! LOL! I actually do live across the street from lakefront properties. If we could expand your criteria from oceanfront to waterfront, then Baldwin would have even less of a chance of in-game adjustments!

When are we all going to get together and agree that THIS GUY CAN'T COACH. The players have talent, it shows, but nothing is being done to mold it into anything. And in-game adjustments? Forget it! You have a better chance of buying oceanfront property next door to Cactus Panther! The only consistency I've seen under Baldwin in 2+ seasons is that his teams regress as the season goes on and that he is good at maintaining long losing streaks. WE HAVEN'T WON A CONFERENCE GAME SINCE LAST JANUARY, FOLKS!! IN THIS sh*tTY EXCUSE FOR THE HORIZON LEAGUE! You HAVE to see it. You can't miss it! The guards have talent. The big men, not so much. Of course, the coach is accountable for that too. I've gone on record stating he deserves a flyer for his first two seasons. I need to see how he does the rest of this season, now that the IUPUI's, UIC's, etc. are coming up on the schedule. If the team does not have success from this point forward, your comments would be fair. One more point. We seem to go through this period of frustration and despair every season. Its time for my annual comment: I (am not) trying to suggest that the low point of today is identical to low points of prior seasons. We agree that the program is at a lower point now. My point is fans' reaction at relative low points of prior seasons is similar - frustration and despair. Here is an example from a season that led to a postseason NCAA tournament berth uwmfreak.proboards.com/thread/6593/game-29-uic?page=6. I have used this thread as an example before. Looking back on our board, you will find similar threads each and every season in which frustrated fans vent.

My main takeaway from that thread, CP, is how MANY people cared about our program at that time ... and how MUCH they cared. From that standpoint, I loved those days.

Did Amir Allen not play in this game? Thought he was our best post player...anyone know the story there?

I am not 100% certain, but I think I saw Allen on the bench but not in uniform. He probably has an injury. The program often operates in secrecy and sometimes doesn't let fans know about such things.

Allen was not in uniform. Wore a gold t-shirt on the bench.

My main takeaway from that thread, CP, is how MANY people cared about our program at that time ... and how MUCH they cared. From that standpoint, I loved those days. You beat me to it. The awful state of the team itself has become, amazingly, only a secondary problem. It's the state of the PROGRAM that is the PRIMARY problem. And that's absolutely and uncontrovertibly indicated by the gargantuan loss of fan interest in the program, the loss of donor and sponsor interest in the program and the loss of media coverage of the program. EVERY DAY in the JS, in the "local teams" schedule box, our program has some variation of this listing for its next game: "Tuesday, 7:00pm NO TV; NO RADIO." The message this sends to the community at large is unmistakable. We're dying. If you don't believe that, show up on Friday and see for yourself. Bring a couple friends and you'll most likely increase the paid attendance by 10%.

Yes, so many more cared six years ago. And at least as many more a little over six years before that. Let's not forget when the downward slide started and snowballed, albeit at different speeds, since.

I'm "with" Te'Jon and wish him all the happiness and success in the coming year, but please don't make this program any more exclusive than it already is. Indeed, the department should be prepared to meet and greet bums in the downtown district and give them good seats.

Here's where I am: Florida A&M last night defeated Iowa State in the biggest upset of the RPI/NET era! FAMU's chances of winning in Ames were 1.3%! Just find a way to win these next two games, OK?

Indeed, the department should be prepared to meet and greet bums in the downtown district and give them good seats. You mean they are not doing that already? Charitably, I assumed the hundreds and hundreds of "ghost" fans reported in the official box score every game might be such vagrants sleeping under the tarps in the 300 level where we just couldn't see them! If Te'jon wants more fans at the games he and the other players should go on strike until the University wakes up and makes sweeping changes in the athletic department. Unfortunately, at this point nobody would really notice if the players went on strike.

Let's not forget when the downward slide started and snowballed, albeit at different speeds, since. You two guys may be the last holdouts who just can't admit how profoundly wrong you were. Remember what you wished for? You got it! Want the proof? Go to the next game and you'll notice that there are thousands fewer fans than we had just five years ago. A "good" ACTUAL crowd now would be 700 people. 700! You will see more fans at D3 games. You will see more fans at HIGH SCHOOL games!! THIS is what our athletics administration has done to the program with its venal mendacity and incompetence. Bad hires and bad fires have killed us! Oh wait -- that's right -- you guys don't go to the games either.

Coming from the heart of an aspiring D-I basketball champion on a team only some of us know what it is like to play for and not from one of the many of us keyboard point guards... (trust me I am more dejected than anyone- I thought we'd have 10 wins by now). I get the feeling things will turn around. 2 good opportunities coming right up..
