As dry as the Drake announcers were on ESPN+, it was nice they did their homework on the Panthers and had a lot of praise for Lucas and the team in general.

"This was a tough game, Baldwin said. "Like I told our team, we made enough plays to win. But unfortunately, we had some plays that we wish we could have back. It's a learning lesson for us and we're just going to get back to the drawing board and get better."
"Credit to them, they made the plays they needed to in order to win a defensive game like this," Baldwin said. "Both teams were having a tough time offensively and our defense kept us in the game for the most part."
"It's not about one or two guys on our team; it's about the collective whole. We had some guys come off the bench and made some huge plays for us – Ty Behrendt came off the bench and gave us nine points and some really good defense. So credit our bench, they did a great job and stepped up when needed. We just needed a couple more plays."

"Like I told our team, we made enough plays to win."
But we DIDN'T make enough plays to win. Somehow, I would change that messaging.

Behrendt with 6 pts on 2-2 shooting from 3. Can't say I expected that...Panthers up 43-40 at the under 12 TO. Behrendt shot as well and looked just as poised as he did when given his only other significant chance to play in the final two games of last season after Roy was injured. It is a small sample size of three games, but it looks like he may be the Panthers best outside shooter. His threes ended a long Panthers' scoring drought and were badly needed at the time. He showed no fear when he drove to the hoop and got the "and one." He drew multiple offensive fouls on Drake players. He was the spark that the Panthers needed and arguably their most valuable player last night. I would like to see him get more meaningful minutes.

Wait. Nobody brought it up. Where was Wil Sessoms? I brought it up in the Rice game thread. He did not play much in the Bahamas either. I assume he has joined Bobby Arthur Williams among returning players out of the rotation.
