Thought I'd do everyone a favor and keep this off the game threads (and frankly it deserves its own thread as it's the 10-ton gorilla that's NOT in the room). I've been to all three games this season and two of them have failed to draw even 500 bodies (to a 10,783-seat arena on which we have to pay expenses). So here's the point: what can be done about it? Word of mouth simply isn't enough when only 250 people are turning out. If it maintains its current track, I think we ALL know where we're going. Let's get your ideas.

Paul,
Do not want to minimize this. It has driven me nuts even back to Ryan and Pearl days that we were not drawing better. I am not surprised or worried about the early season turnouts for Concordia and Wisconsin Lutheran. I am as you know not in favor of KC but when it comes to these opponents well.....they are all but exhibition games. The turnout for Western Michigan was encouraging . I do think if we can start generating some buzz with winning we will see improvement and hopefully steady. I do not have issues with announced attendance as sports teams announce tickets sold not actual bodies in the seats, we are not disengenous in that regard. Personally I am attending my first game on Tuesday against North Dakota since the Jeter academic ban fiasco. Will likely start going again and if things improve will consider re-upping the season ticket packages I held for 20 years . I am not expecting miracles right away but the one thing that would sour me on Baldwin in the near term would be if academic or off the court issues started up. One thing we can not have on top of everything. I hear tom toms beating and hope they are unsubstantiated rumors.

I think that you just minimized it, Steve. LOL! Anyway, last night's attendance had to rival the turnout for Youngstown State in Jan. 2017 as the WORST since the Ric Cobb era. You'll unquestionably see what I mean on Tuesday. Anyway, if our intrepid chancellor hasn't noticed the iceberg sirens going off in Chapman Hall by now, the rumor is true: he's asleep underneath his desk.

Channeling Amanda Braun standing at front of Titanic (De Caprio like) singing I am Queen of The World with Celine Dion playing in the background. Ode to our Chancellor (he may be doing great in other areas but in athletics, well), Near, Far, Wherever You Are................

It would be nice if the the students would (consistently) do their part as well...especially for such a large school enrollmentwise. The difference in student attendance between Saturday and Tuesday was insane. They get a free ticket, free travel to the game, and pretty cool giveaways at times. Pretty sweet deal...and it's definitely being advertised enough.

There were literally 20 times as many students crossing Maryland in front of my car yesterday than there were at Tuesday's game, including the band and cheer team.

Tuesday there was maybe 200 people there. Yes it's a Tuesday against a D3 school, but still.

On Tuesday we had a great taco bowl and soda for $5. Huge brat. Beer and saw people having a ice cream in a waffle cone. At the KC you don't get any of that.

Which begs the question why we still have games there? It has a grade school vibe
