RF and LF. Yellich can move to CF and LF at times. Braun at 1B is looking more and more likely. Depth and versatility will continue to be a Brewer strength, though Stearns and Company still have some work to do before opening day on the INF and with the pitching staff.

Buyer beware on Avi. Suffered through years of following him as a Chisox fan. One of those frustrating, fools gold guys who cuts an impressive figure but is inconsistent, underachieves and is often injured with fluctuating weight levels. Not a good outfielder at all defensively and makes boneheaded plays and poor routes on the ball. Surprising lack of power for his size. Not the greatest clubhouse guy. All that being said maybe he has matured a bit, is entering his prime years whatever that means and will blossom under Counsell. Tenper expectations though with this guy. A poor mans Carlos Lee really....shudder to think of him in the of and Braun at 1b at the same time defensively

Thanks for the insight Steve. I know nothing about Avisail because I do not follow the AL. Stearns is good at finding players on the upswing so you may be right about his best years yet to come. A lot of people were scratching their heads about signing Grandall for the same amount of money last year (though for one year instead of two), and in retrospect that acquisition turned out well.

Cactus, all of what I said above on balance not the worst gamble to take. Not a mega contract and not a long term deal. That is the key. Frankly, as a Sox fan I am a bit concerned that they gave Yasmani a four year deal. They can spot Garcia here and there but as a full time player. well,,,he is a walking pulled hamstring

Brewers announced they have signed corner infielder Ryon Healy to a one-year contract. Financial terms are unknown. The Mariners non-tendered Healy earlier this month rather than pay him close to $3 million through arbitration. He had season-ending hip surgery in August.

Commentators on the radio are decrying the organizational teardown. Surely, they must know what they're doing.

Until baseball gets a salary cap, teams like Milwaukee can't match the Yankees Cubs etc for sheer cash. Last year the budget was over 120 million, a club record

And let's say that the Brewers do decide to retool, I'm still sticking with them. Every mid-market team goes through some rebuilding every now and then!

Exactly. The last two years were just the second time in history that we had consecutive playoff appearances

Commentators on the radio are decrying the organizational teardown. Surely, they must know what they're doing. More love for the Brewers chances in 2020 from the national media: www.mlb.com/news/mlb-teams-that-could-win-2020-world-seriesHey, it's only generalist journalist Mike Lupica, he includes 30% of the teams on the list and he mentions some "what if" acquisitions for the Brewers to make yet. However, it is another counter to the decrying of organizational teardown. Also, it shows further respect for the leadership of the franchise - something that was once missing for decades. By the way, I would love to see the rumored trade of Josh Hader become reality. His value will never be higher and there is every reason to believe Stearns would only make the deal if it sets up the franchise for greater success in the future. Having stated that, usually when the national pundits speculate about potential Brewers transactions, they get it wrong. We'll see what transpires in the second half of the offseason.
