Interesting how Tragic that it’s only a one year an extension of any length. And so predictable. FIFY

When our AD flushed the men's basketball program down the toilet in 2016 a small army of department trolls invaded this board to defend her -- anonymously, of course.
Would any of them have the courtesy to come on now and make the case for her being extended? I'm truly curious. Because the objective public evidence generated in the last three years is astoundingly heavy to the contrary. What secret, subtle accomplishments are we unaware of that will cast her administration in a different light? I have been in the business of weighing the evidence for four decades. Let's hear some. You can even stay "anonymous." I don't care. I just want to understand. I'm even willing to be persuaded -- although if there's that much secret evidence it will come as a great shock to me and the rest of what used to be our fan base.
Otherwise I'll be forced to "assume" that this is just another example of our University administration's feckless and marginal interest in (if not outright disdain for) athletics. "We don't have to find a new AD? Great! It means our program will continue to suck? Meh."

well its only a one year extension. on the other hand, the performance of our team, in terms of attendance and on court performance, strongly weigh against extending her. Do we really need a 3-28 season ala 1997-98 Ric Cobb, to get some changes made?

I suspect that many of us here anticipate the "change" in that event would be having our games moved back to the garbage can. For the record, I don't think we'll go 3-28.

Quite clearly, she is accomplishing what she was brought here to do. Will it be a year or two before we're back at the KC permanently?

Looks like Admin has bought into the "Path to Prominence". Hopefully it is not a "one way ticket to Palookaville".

This is depressing me. Could we change the subject? Things will change. Braun will move on. We can start thinking about a new AD. Maybe Plinske. Maybe Forrest Gregg, no he died recently.

Wow this is horrible news.
Well. I guess our Panthers are just going to have to Major League it and win against all odds/obstacles/lack of support from AD Braun aka Cruella DeBraun.
I'm baffled that a D1 university like ours struggles so mightily with the most basic athletics decisions. This is a cluster$#$% with no end in sight.
And it's a damn shame because if she left- I firmly believe it'd ignite a wellspring of support from ppl who stopped donating, stopped showing up and stopped caring after she treated Rob Jeter like a prisoner in his own workplace and destroyed the trust of everyone and all things related to the Milwaukee Panthers Men's Basketball program.
All we can do is win.

I'm sorry that this is so unpleasant, but it IS our reality. We are now hanging on by a thread! The university to a large degree painted itself into a corner with this hire and WE are now suffering the consequences!

Braun will move on? To what? Certainly not to another AD position. What would her pitch be? “I inherited a program that was regularly the class of a much, much better Horizon League and now average one title a year over all sports. I blew up the only revenue sport because I didn’t like the coach and listened to people who, like me, didn’t know the first thing about D1 men’s hoops, and we went from a contender to the worst program in a terrible league, while our actual attendance declined by at least 75%. I alienated most of the longest standing, most generous donors that we had. But hey, I got us into a new baseball facility — 40 minutes away from our campus! We expect dozens of fans!”
How could there possibly be another University in the country that would touch her with a ten foot pole?

It's incredibly sad how little information we get on all of this. Like how did we not know her last deal was that long? The only part (and this is an incredibly small portion) of this situation where I get enjoyment in is that it doesn't seem like she's receiving the sizable raises that anyone with talent or desirability would get. Like she MUST see this and realize they don't REALLY want her. They're just keeping the status quo because they want/have to.
Literally no *other athletic department wants her (adding the asterisk because I'm not certain UWM actually wants her). This week she's been praising other AD's on her twitter account (potentially hoping this will help her prospects?).
Can you imagine another university offering her money? I'm not saying "money" like she's being paid now. I mean ANY money. Like enough money to wear a sandwich board and say "come to the games everyone" outside of a university sponsored tractor pull. If she stays on enough years, she might be able to headline a County Fair like a failed Road Rules contestant.
This pleasure is probably short-lived. We apparently didn't know the correct length of her last deal and the reported "raise" may have been understated as well. Just let me live in denial?
