There's validity to that point. Perhaps if our chancellor wasn't spineless in the face of Lena Taylor's race-baiting saber-rattling, we're all having an entirely different discussion right now. But alas, all we can do is speculate. A few of us were having that conversation at Goolsby's after the Oakland game.

No, just tired of your little cartoon pissing in our hand and saying it's raining. Hey, it's the only thing I could find with a basketball themed cactus. I must say though, I like the image of Bruce Pearl that you use. I think he is someone we can both agree on.

So if Amanda Braun did in fact push for TJ Oztelberger to be hired and Mark Mone put the kabosh on that... are we focusing our anger on the wrong person? Just curious because it sounds like he was ours if we wanted him. And she did. And he’s obviously having a huge amount of success as a head coach in his first three seasons. Primarily the last two. Not trying to stir the pot. But it seems like she made a decision to fire Jeter and was ready to hire someone who would have brought the program back to relevance. That should count for something shouldn’t it? Just wondering if this whole scenario would have played out differently had Mone not gotten involved and worried about the optics of the hire. I used to wonder a lot about that myself. Certainly, TJ is having a lot of success at South Dakota State with two trips to the big dance and at least a NIT bid coming up. It sure beats our last three years. Of course, it also helps to have Mike Daum on your roster. It looks like he has recruited a few players from Wisconsin including some kid named Arians. Not sure where I have heard that name before, but I digress. I am not a Jeter loyalist. My first year holding season tickets was his last season so I never really got to know the coach. That being said, if you are the AD and your plan is to fire a coach who is coming off a 20-win season and is largely supported by fans and the community, then you damn better be 100% sure that the path is clear to bring on your guy. If Mone rejected her pick of TJ, that is on the AD. She should have cleared her list of potential candidates with the chancellor before she made any move at all to see if he had reservations. She clearly was surprised at this twist and we all witnessed the embarrassing amateur hour that unfolded in the wake of her error. Maybe she did exactly that and Mone changed his mind but it doesn't really matter. Braun gambled, and she lost. Correction, we all lost. She doesn’t get a pass on the TJ hire debacle in my book.

I don't know what Paul Plinske is doing these days, but we could sure use someone that would successfully sell Chapman Hall on the importance of the only revenue sport in the university. That is why I have advocated for a modern day Pat Richter to be the next AD. Paul Plinske left Nebraska-Kearney for the AD job at DII Colorado State–Pueblo last year. While I would love a transcendent leader at the helm, at this point I would settle for someone simply competent and nonpolarizing. We need someone who is able to move the program back to respectability and bring what is left of the fractured fanbase back to the arena.

Whatever happened to Kyle Rechlicz? Last I saw, she came up well short of the goals set for her!

While there's a reasonable case to say some of the coaching changes happening this week are too extreme in the opposite direction, I sure see a lot of coaches getting removed after performing far better than Milwaukee's current coaches.

Out of curiosity, is the creator of the standards forever exempt from their application? That would be a great scam, wouldn't it?
Chapman Hall? Anybody? Bueller? Bueller?

Obviously Chapman Hall makes it up as they go!!! Dysfunctional in this area (Athletics) beyond belief. Hopefully at some point justice will prevail , ie, Braun is held accountable. Everyone on this board knows my position on Jeter (initial hiring decision, extensions, APR etc) however the way he was treated and dismissed was both dishonorable and dishonest. Will there be some accountability? Unfortunately, that obvious answer is now an existential question in doubt.
