Goose egg for Vance Johnson.
Panthers made 20 shots. 11 from three. 9 made free-throws.

This team makes me want to vomit. Completely disappeared with 3 mins left, after a good game. I'd rather get railed by 30 than watch this crap. So if you were a Chicago State fan, you would not be as sick about your team's season?

We are coaching-challenged to say the least.

We are coaching-challenged to say the least. I'm not disagreeing. Just asking the question. How so? I don't pay for ESPN+. So, I didn't see the game.

According to Scott Warras, the Panthers have not officially been eliminated from the conference tournament yet, depending on tiebreaker scenarios.
So if...
Oh hell, never mind.

Full disclosure I didn't see the game either, just followed the 2nd half stats online. That said, I think a place one could start the case is that the Panthers use a short bench and have run out of gas the last few games during the final 4 minutes. Extending the bench and using Madge or really any of a few guys just for a couple minutes could buy the base rotation guys some rest so that they aren't spent by the end of the game.

I think the biggest challenge for this team is depth. PB has a hard time putting five capable players on the court at any one time, let alone having any come off the bench. Of course the head coach is primarily responsible for player acquisition and retention. However, I give PB a pass this season because of the difficult situation he came into when hired in June of 2017. There are no more passes to hand out after this season.
This program needs coaching continuity as much as anything else right now. Let's see what PB can do the rest of this season (can he motivate the players to "fight" in these last three games despite nothing to play for?) and next.
I must admit to being used to having a head coach for this program I'd rather not have. It has been that way for me since 2005. Again though, we need coaching continuity for the time being. I am pulling for PB to have success as Panthers' coach because that means eventual success for the program.

To paraphrase Bum Phillips, a good coach can take YOUR players and beat YOU with them. Show me where Bruce, Bo or Rob drove off nearly all of his inherited players and started almost from scratch. My point is essentially that our depth issues are mostly the fault of our bench general. Face it, PBS is in the midst of a long learning loop. Irrespective of the talent level, HE still has much to learn.

On another note, IUPUI's video production is solid all around.

So if you were a Chicago State fan, you would not be as sick about your team's season? I would never be a Chicago anything fan, so the analogy does not apply. Also, I find it hilarious that your Jeter derangement allows you to give PB a seemingly unlimited amount of passes. Can't wait to hear what your excuse for his next pass is this time next year, when we are sub-.500 again. I'll have my popcorn ready for the reveal.

Went to the game. Was fun and Interesting to see the teams and the arena. In the first half it seems like IUPUI was outplaying the panthers pretty clearly - yet the score was always much closer than I would have expected. I guess Milwaukee would get five or six behind - but then all of a sudden they’d hit a three (or two threes) and be right back in it.
In the second half it seemed Milwaukee was playing better than IUPUI - and they were getting a lot more of the “50/50” plays. It seemed like they should have been able to pull away a little more than they did, but the Jags hung in there. Finally with about five minutes left - it was pretty much tied. Then IUPUI finally started looking like they had some organized plays to use - and they actually worked. They did ok with hitting free throws. And Milwaukee really seemed to pretty much collapse in the last three or so minutes.
The arena is pretty decent and it’s size is ideal for a Horizon League tournament. The only bad thing is that it is a hockey arena - so the “end zone” seats are way back from court side. The seats on the side are great though - so those 4,000 or so seats have good views and are pretty close to the court. I paid $15 for my ticket and sat in about the 6th row a bit to the “left” of center court.
The crowd (maybe about 700 or so?) was moderately into the game and not too loud for most of it - but did get pretty loud and animated down the stretch. (They’ll probably announce “tickets sold” as a bit over 1,000.). One other nice thing was that they retired the number of one of the former players and had a ceremony for that at halftime. They showed highlights including his winning shot with one second left that won the Mid Continent Conference Championship back in 2003 over Valparaiso which sent them to the NCAA tournament. George Hill (Indianapolis native / IUPUI grad / longtime NBA player - now with the Milwaukee Bucks) was there with a bunch of other teammates and he spoke. It was pretty cool.
Getting pretty close to locking in the top 8 teams that will advance to Horizon League tournament. Three games to go.

Milwaukee really seemed to pretty much collapse in the last three or so minutes. Hmmmm? And retire a player's number? Why would anyone do THAT?!

So, it's players that are not evening around is how your rating Baldwin. Way different era in hoops bringing up Bo & Bruce. The transfer era then is no where near as it is today.

X and Os? I'm a big believer in riding the hot hand, taking chances with two fouls in the first half and always attacking until the final buzzer.
I've seen or heard just about every game and PBS doesn't seem to believe in any of these things!
