Very ugly so far. There have been quite a few turnovers, and the Panthers don’t have an answer for Brechting if he’s not traveling. You know things are going bad when Wright shoots a three that takes a few spins around the rim and bounces out.

Nice 9-0 run to end the half to make the deficit a more manageable 12 points. Hopefully they can keep it going in the second half.

CSU 89 IUPUI 86 F. Panthers could still catch IUPUI for 8th. Next Friday's game against the Jags is actually meaningful, believe it or not.

Yet, PB says on the radio post game show regarding the upcoming IUPUI game "I don't want to put too much pressure on our guys..." Huh?

Yet, PB says on the radio post game show regarding the upcoming IUPUI game "I don't want to put too much pressure on our guys..." Huh? I think that means, we need to control what we do. As he said something like back to the drawing board. We need to play smarter.

They couldn’t put together a strong consistent run in the second half. That will happen when there are so many turnovers. I am hoping that having Te’Jon Lucas next year will help a lot in that regard.
It is incredibly unlikely that the Panthers make the HL tournament now. They are still within striking distance of 8th, but they would have to win at least 3 of their last 4, and 2 of them are against NKU and Wright State.
The fact of the matter is that there is a reason this team was picked to finish 9th in the conference this year. There are precisely 2 players on this year’s team right now that saw minutes with the Panthers last year. I am hoping that the seemingly good recruiting by this coaching staff will prove to be good in the coming years (assuming they stay 🤞)
As for this year, I’m not expecting a top 8 finish. That’s not unexpected but is still disappointing. I wouldn’t mind being pleasantly surprised though. And I’m still looking forward to the last two home games of the year.

i was at the game we got behind from the gun and never caught up. we could never get as run together to get within striking distance, every time we got a couple baskets, Oakland would go right down and either get an easy baskjet, a fgoul or a 3. we committed 6 fouls in less than 2 minutes.

Feel sorry for these guys. They can’t catch a break but a tired team makes mistakes and they look tired. The new guys especially have hit that peak. It is a different game even at the Horizon League level. Hopefully those four guys on the bench work hard and pick up the slack next year. This team has lacked a true point guard and it hurts. Roy is a nice player but teams have exposed his weaknesses. He can’t go left and shoots from the hip. He will be better being the benefactor of Lucas penetrating and dishing. Just an aside but I really dislike Oakland coach mini Huggins. In fact I dislike most of the coaches in the league. Baldwin has more dignity than the whole bunch. He coaches his players and doesn’t ride the refs. Unfortunately it works all too well for the opposition. Billy Donley, former Wright Stater, coached like Baldwin. Rarely got on the refs and motivated his team. You rarely see that in today’s game. Maybe I am being influenced by Jabbar’s book about John Wooden, greatest college coach ever. Wooden would not like the game is today. Thanks for enduring my early morning rant and let’s get a win.

"At this point, we just have to get back to square one," Baldwin said. "Defensively, we have to get a lot better. We have some fighters in our locker room – some guys who truly care about winning and progressing and being successful. I know that they are going to come back and work right alongside with me. But, definitely a disappointing night and hope to get better moving forward."

Unreal, this weekend were they can't score on a fastbreak. It happened about six times in both games were the Panthers couldn't score a 2 on 1. Not sure why Jamar Madge can't get any minutes. He has a nice shot and it could give others a blow. Also very disappointing last night, was the Panthers couldn't beat a team in Oakland they already beat this season. The game was a blowout. You must play well when you have a nice sized crowd at your game.

In a relative sense, yes. I'd say that there were probably 1,400-1,500 on hand. As Steve wrote in an earlier thread, it's especially important to play well at home!
