Why don't they just re-open the bidding between the IFC and BB&T groups and make all aspects of the bid public? Why is this stuff always so secretive?! Why would LeCrone want this to become public info?

I really hope this is the decision that finally gets the HL schools to sh*t can his ass. NKU's AD isn't the only one furious about this decision. Doubt it. Only three schools voted against Indy. Most of the schools who voted for Motor City Sadness voted for this too. The voting process was only a formality because LeCrone already had the votes in place including WSU. ADs should be more upset about the continued drop in league revenue and school payouts. Three schools? We know it wasn't IUPUI or UIC given their AD was the head of the committee. Well we know NKU is one. I would guess that OU and UDM are the other two. I would really like to know which 7 AD's are this out of touch. Are you able to share?

I would really like to know which 7 AD's are this out of touch. GB UDM WSU YSU CSU UIC IUPUI This isn't to say they all happily voted for it. I don't know who willingly voted for it (well, I'm sure I can guess ONE) or who reluctantly voted for it but either way they voted for it.

Absent from the yes votes is UWM, the on the job training finally paid off. After all of this your AD finally gets one right. As for GB, I guess our new guy has some lessons to learn. His inner circle doesn't seem to include any community members/fans with a broad perspective beyond life at the Resch Center.

Thanks for the insight! I haven’t heard as many details as you and I tried rephrasing my point w/ gbphoenix1 by saying I’m not sure who voted for it willingly or unwillingly. There’s no chance all seven voted for it willingly. I too hope this begins the push to get rid of him because he’s not doing this for the greater good of the league.

I understood and appreciated your comments. I will say that IMO all 7 voted for it willingly. If they didn't ask additional questions about possible venues or gain context of how the criteria was changing and Indy was a finalist then they weren't doing their job. For that matter what is the rush? This was announced almost 14 months before the games are being played. The Indiana Farmers Coliseum doesn't have enough events that it wouldn't have been available 3 months from now on a Monday and Tuesday in March of 2020. If these leaders don't see that then they did vote willingly in my perspective. I know a lot of people don't like politics but ask yourself would your local group of Alderman push something through without a thorough debate and vetting? Absolutely not. Yes that slows things down but in this case the league had time to wait and the fans outside of Indy have a lot more questions than they do answers. As more information comes out it is becoming a worse and worse look for the administration of the Horizon League. That is on LeCrone but it is also on those 7 yes voters as well.

The voting process was only a formality because LeCrone already had the votes in place including WSU. ADs should be more upset about the continued drop in league revenue and school payouts. The problem is that LeCrone lied by omission to the HL schools before they voted on Indy. He didn't present all of the venues the offered to host the tournament. He also sent out different hosting criteria to different venues to get some of those venues to drop their interest in host or exclude their ability to host because they didn't meet his criteria (which kept changing). Besides NKU's bid, I know the University of Dayton looked into hosting the tournament. They regularly host the first 4 of the NCAA tournament and first round NCAA tournament games for both the men's and women's tournament. UD arena is recently renovated and hold up to 13k seating capacity. They dropped out of the bidding process because LeCrone sent them at least 3 different hosting criteria during the process. The last one imposed so many restrictions that the event was deemed not feasible by UD. WTF? They have hosted the NCAA tournament for over 30 years and do it on a regular basis and LeCrone gave them more restrictions than the NCAA. If you read between the lines on what happened with UD and with what happened with NKU's bid you will see that he tried to exclude better sites so that he could have it in Indy. 7/10 teams voted on Indy because they were not given other options. Big D thanks for sharing. From a venue perspective UD arena would have been top notch for this tournament. It makes my blood boil knowing that another real viable host was interested and that the Mickey Mouse operation in Indy chased them away. I guess the only defense is the league didn't want to play their conference tournament finals in the same building that they are likely playing their first round NCAA tournament games in!!
