If the old format is never coming back which is too bad this sounds like a relatively good alternative under the circumstances, especially with the transit link. That was initial main concern that the coliseum would be basically isolated from all the cool Indy sports and entertainment venues. Sure beats Detroit. Not that worried about the IUPUI home advantage. Indy is a good central location . Wish it was at Hinkle actually but would be kind of tacky I guess after Butler bolted the conference.

Wow!
Hats off to NKU's athletic department for openly communicating with it's fans and honestly expressing it's frustration.
I get the feeling that the HL better start seriously considering a new 10th member as soon as possible.

the top 4 teams? that works if you are Ivy and 8 teams, not if you are a 10 team league. not to mention we'd miss the conference tourney for long stretches.

Which would make each appearance more precious and not taken for granted. I want all teams to participate, but some arguments can be made in favor of such radical change.

under the current 8 team format we dont get the chance to make our run to the tournament finals under Laval a couple years ago . under a 4 team format, we're playing out the string with 6 games to go! Right now oakland is the 4th seed at 7-6, we are 2.5 GB of them right now.

I have no information on this but is it possible that IUPUI is going to move back to the Jungle for the years that the tourney is in Indiana Farmers Coliseum?

I have no information on this but is it possible that IUPUI is going to move back to the Jungle for the years that the tourney is in Indiana Farmers Coliseum? From what I’ve heard, no. This was as much of a sham as you’d expect it to be. LeCrone wanted it in Indy and did what was necessary to make sure it’d happen.

But doesn't LeCrone work for the collective school administrations? You don't think he acted on his own without approval from the majority of the schools, do you?

LeCrone is a swashbuckling risk-taker of unprecendented proportions!

I really hope this is the decision that finally gets the HL schools to sh*t can his ass. NKU's AD isn't the only one furious about this decision. Doubt it. Only three schools voted against Indy. Most of the schools who voted for Motor City Sadness voted for this too. The voting process was only a formality because LeCrone already had the votes in place including WSU. ADs should be more upset about the continued drop in league revenue and school payouts.

Why don't they just re-open the bidding between the IFC and BB&T groups and make all aspects of the bid public? Why is this stuff always so secretive?!
