Baldwin: "You've got to give all the credit in the world to Northern Kentucky."
Yada, yada, yada! Blah, blah, blah!

That happened with under a minute. This happened with 6:34. How? Baldwin used his LAST timeout with 12:58 left in the game because he used the other 3 in the first half. Wtf?!

So, ESPN reports that the paid attendance at last night's "game" (and I use that term very loosely) was 1,009. Let that wash over you for a second. They have to lie about attendance....to get to 1,000. Ohio State and Michigan for years "embellished" their attendance at football games to "set a new record" every other week....but they actually DID have over 100,000 people in seats.
UW-Milwaukee lies about having 1% of that number, and anyone in the building can, in 5 minutes, count the actual people in seats to come up with maybe....MAYBE...several hundred.
So, what do all you big mouths who blasted me, Fran, Jimmy, and others when we said that Her Royal Highness, Queen Amanada the First, was an absolute disaster have to say now? Where are all those "new" members of the board now (hint: in the AD office, hiding under a desk)?

Well, attendance is a paid or given out number, not who shows up. Needless to say, a paid crowd of over 1,000 is terrible for UWM. Until the start of the 2016 season, Milwaukee always had a crowd of a paid number of over 2,000.

'Hawk, the number of people in the entire BUILDING was maybe -- MAYBE! -- a quarter of that number!!! The tacos were pretty good, though.

So all the Dark Lord of Bullsh*t, Darth Incompetence has to do is use some "petty cash" laying around her Death Star over on Downer and buy up some tickets and just like that, we have an "attendance" of 5,000 any time we want? Excellent.

It's deflating walking into the building with 100 people in the seats. The school has the name on the building and can't draw. Admirals are sold out for tonight. The Wave are drawing 4,000 per game. Heck, even ROLLERY DERBY draws a crowd at the Arena. Tickets are $30 bucks in the good seats and cheap ones are $15 bucks for indoor soccer and the Wave are drawing solid crowds.

Well, thank God we gave her an extension before someone lured her away to another program to repeat her magic. Really dodged a bullet there.
Still wondering where all her defenders went....I remember being called a LOT of choice names because I dared to say she was unqualified and incompetent. Now.....crickets.

Quick note about the videocast. (Let's be clear, we barely get any actual televised games any more.) At timeouts there used to be a clear, very wide angle shot of the Arena. Apparently, someone noticed that this had the unfortunate effect of allowing viewers to verify that NOBODY WAS THERE. So things changed. Last night at timeouts a blurring filter was used and the shot was carefully framed so that only the 200 level could be seen. The effect was sort of impressionistic, allowing for the possibility that, you know, there might have been some fans there.
I also want to give a shoutout to the JS for that nice color picture in this morning's print edition. Dave Kallman must have worked really hard to find an action shot that also showed a few people in the stands!
At this point, anyone who doesn't understand that the men's basketball program at Milwaukee has been destroyed as a result of our AD's actions is ignoring the evidence right before our eyes! We are now being OUTDRAWN by WIAC schools!!!
Incredibly less than two years ago we played a game against Valpo at the Arena which more than 4,000 people ACTUALLY attended. I see no practical possibility that the ENTIRE actual attendance for our conference home games this year will exceed the attendance of that ONE game.
And by the way, a great game it was; we lost in OT to Valpo's best team ever, but neither team ever led by more than 6 points. There were multiple high D1 caliber players on both teams going toe-to-toe. The Arena was raucous! Folks, can you remember that we used to have great games against the best teams in the league with thousands of fans actually in attendance? It was less than two years ago!!
Going to those games was a BLAST. And it's gone.

will be going to most of the homestand- not going tom- Mom's having a birthday- but basically I get the sense that what I saw in December is about what we will get the entire home season, some 400 or so . Its.. sad, to put it mildly. I say this as someone who was there during the glory years from 2003-06, where we came a few free throws in 2004 from going to the dance 4 straight years . Now? the program is at the level of a low-major. Our Crowds are along the lines of Idaho Vandals , if that.

"Tonight was certainly not our night," head coach Pat Baldwin said.
I would say that is a true statement.

The blurring of the wide arena shot was strange. I thought of it more as bright over-saturation, which on a 75 inch TV in a dark room was unpleasant to look at. When watching the game, I attributed it to a technical glitch.
Regardless the description, the theory that it was to avoid showing empty seats is viable. If it was for this purpose, I wonder why the director did not do what is usually done in these situations, show a close-up of someone in the stands, a cheerleader, the players on the bench, a banner, the inner sanctum of a tuba, etc. That is what is typically done.
I did also notice the overall arena view, when clear shots were shown, was at a lower angle so as not to show the empty upper seats. I have no doubt this was on purpose to avoid showing empty seats. If seen this done in hundreds of arenas, stadiums and race tracks.
Doing this during the NKU game does not surprise me. What surprises me is it was not done more often in prior games.

Why no name on the back of Seth Dittmer's jersey? Does the athletic department's budget only allow so many letters per team?
Anyone know if Sam Burkhart has his name on the back of his jersey?
They are as part of the team as anyone else. It seems a bit bush league to me (no need to take that last sentence further, please - I think everyone's had their say already).
