Agree with pretty much all of what's been written above. One other thing that I think is noteworthy (though not necessarily comforting): we could go 5-13 and still win the MCM. Probably as much as ever, it ain't over 'til it's over.

"Give them a lot of credit," Pat Baldwin said. "We talked to our guys about (YSU) not being home in a long time and were going to come with a lot of energy and we didn't meet that aggressiveness at the start of the game. When you put yourself in a hole, it's a hard hill to climb."

Rather, I want you to establish a baseline production/expectation level for the Panthers that includes blowing away these conference bottom dwellers. I've already seen enough of the team playing down to the competition (Concordia). Never a sign of a good or improving team.

Do you all just sit on your hands and deny how bad this program has become? Let alone the coaching? Then you create a new stream so the 10 of you can re-live the ‘glory’ days? Sad! Even YSU can draw more people to their home games than the sad state of the Panthers can on a Saturday night @ The MECCA! By the way, YSU’s BPI? 317! Great program your so-called AD has created since March 2016!

well, this panther team can spank Iowa St at their place, and get smacks by Concordia St Paul and now Youngstown St. 8-8, and 1-2 in conference. games like these are games we have to win.

Trust me, many of us are crying in our beer, so to speak. But even those of us who are trying to ring the alarm bells have a lot of appreciation for the kids in the program and the effort they are giving. As others have noted, they have been let down repeatedly by the people running the program.
As for Pat Baldwin, he is what he is -- a guy who had a decent if unspectacular assistant's resume but no experience as a head coach. At this point none of us knows whether he will turn out to be a good coach or a long term coach for the program or not. It took Rob Jeter a while to really get his feet under him and build the program to sustainable quality, granted that he was constantly working against the headwinds of a revolving door of incompetents in the administration. Ric Cobb never came close to any success. Jordan bailed so quickly his moving boxes were never fully unpacked. So given those prior examples of hiring assistants it would be foolish to expect much from Baldwin, especially right away. We'll see. In contrast, Ryan and Pearl had been phenomenally successful head coaches before coming here. But seriously, how could the people running the current administration attract someone like them, given their mismanagement? It hurt to see Wright State get a guy like Scott Nagy.
So Baldwin it is, at least for now. And we can hope for the best for the kids while we rail against the management.
The biggest problem is just what you said. This forum is the home of the most committed fans of the program -- and it's down to a couple dozen people at most. The games are attracting high school crowds. More than a few of us wonder if this wasn't the real game plan all along. There has always been a faction at this University that views intercollegiate athletics as - at best - a bother. And that's coming from someone whose first involvement with University athletics goes back to the early 70s. Maybe they finally have just the person they want in charge.
