Didn't get to watch the game, but glad to see I was quite wrong about the outcome. What a win!

Going up against Loyola, we knew we had to be prepared not only for a physical battle, but a game that we had to be able to score too, because they certainly have been able to do that," head coach Pat Baldwin said. "Give our guys a lot of credit tonight. For 40 minutes, I thought our intensity level, our togetherness and how we competed was at an all-time high."

To have Brock Stull come back, to give us an ability to look at different things and to play a little bit differently really helped us in this game today," Baldwin said.

I love the idea of Loyola fans in the middle of the best season in program history making the trip up to Milwaukee and being given war flashbacks Well, they've had at least one better season...it's just been decades Not to diminish the win...it's huge either way, but they also got post players Cameron Lard & Hans Brase back the next game. Both are bigs who play about 20 minutes per game...would've been significant for them that night.

In fact, I'll bet that they've had at least eight better seasons, but as Parker mentioned, none in the last 30-plus years. Still, they're having a nice year. As for the ISU game, I wouldn't want to replay it today. Fortunately, there's no need to.

Yeah, last time Loyola had a season where they started this fast was back in the Little Brown Box That Rocked and UWM was playing at Baker Fieldhouse. Those two legendary venues were not that dissimiliar!! I remember sitting in the balcony at Baker above the dirt track watching Kessem Grimes and Harold Lee

Not to pile on the "Loyola's best season" remark, but really? One of the reasons I hated to see LU leave the Horizon was that it took the only national championship away from the league. (The other reason is that it took away a great, convenient road trip. But no big deal, maybe we can replace them with UMKC or Grand Canyon "University" or something, right?)
That aside, Saturday's game demonstrates again just how crucial Brock Stull is to the team. If his knee injury had been serious we would probably have measured our remaining wins in the small single digits. He and Bryce Nze are proving to be exactly the talents Rob and Chad thought they were.

Sorry man not even close. ISU win was on the road, and they haven't lost a game since. In any case, this was definitely a good win, and a fun little walk down memory lane. Loyola will never schedule another game against a Horizon League team I mean...sure. You're absolutely right. I just expect the Loyola victory to be better at the end of the year. You nailed it!

I'm just so incredibly happy for Porter, the long-suffering Loyola fans and Sister Jean, who still vividly recalls the 1963 national championship!

I'd say this win is looking REALLY GOOD now.
I hope they win the whole thing so we can have a victory over the national champs.
